Summary
Selfie Time is an Indonesian chain of Korean-style photo booths, locally called photobox. Its operating company is PT Fotobox Kreasi Indonesia. According to its official website, the brand was founded in 2022 and belongs to PT Inti Nya Teknologi, or Inti Nya Group, a home appliance distributor based in North Jakarta. Its CEO is Stevany Tedy. It specializes in photo booths; it is not a line of machines operated by an arcade or shopping mall. When its Grand Indonesia outlet opened in November 2023, media reports described it as the 40th branch. On May 31, 2025, it received a MURI record for the “photo booth chain with the most branches.” The company reported 120 branches at the time and 146 in July that year. On September 22, 2026, photobooth.joelin.cc checked the official list and cataloged 176 locations and 209 machines: 92 machines in its own outlets and 117 unmanned machines in third-party venues such as mall corridors and cafés. Its locations represented 44% of the 403 Indonesian locations in this site’s directory. This article found no primary sources establishing the founder’s name, the company’s incorporation date, or its shareholders.
Key facts

The original Chinese article was published on September 25, 2026, and updated on October 2, 2026. The research dates and market figures below reflect that original snapshot.
Selfie Time is the Korean-style photo booth brand with the most locations in Indonesia. Founded in Jakarta in 2022, it is operated by PT Fotobox Kreasi Indonesia. Its parent, Inti Nya Group, primarily distributes home appliances such as air purifiers and walking treadmills. Selfie Time is a dedicated photo booth brand, opening its own outlets while also placing unmanned machines in mall corridors and cafés.
On September 22, 2026, this site’s photobooth.joelin.cc checked the official list and cataloged 176 Selfie Time locations and 209 machines in Indonesia. Those locations accounted for 44% of the 403 Indonesian locations in the directory. These are this site’s cataloged counts, not an official nationwide total.
This article is organized around four questions: who owns the company, who runs it, how it reached its current scale, and how many outlets it actually has. Each fact includes a source and a verification date. Where information could not be found, I say so directly and explain where I looked.
First, distinguish three easily confused names
Three names tend to get mixed up when researching Indonesian photo booths:
- Selfie Time is the subject of this article. Its operating company is PT Fotobox Kreasi Indonesia, its website is selfietime.id, and its Instagram account is @selfietimeid.
- Snapshot Photobox is the photo booth machine brand found inside Indonesia’s Timezone arcades. This site catalogs 70 locations. It merely shares a name with Snapshot 妞拍貼, the Taiwanese brand I operate. This site found no connection between them; they are not the same company.
- In Palembang, a shop has the Google Business name “Selfie Time Moments Foto Studio.” When this site checked it in August 2026, it was not counted as an official Selfie Time outlet. An official Selfie Time press release separately mentioned a professional photography service called Selfie Time Moments. This site has not verified whether the two refer to the same business.
Disclosure of interests: I operate the Taiwanese photo booth brand Snapshot 妞拍貼. This article concerns a different company in Indonesia and involves no partnership or competitive relationship, but readers can decide how much weight to give that disclosure.
1. A brand, not a distribution channel: the company and its parent group
When organizing photo booth operators across countries, this site uses three categories: brands, meaning local photo booth specialists that operate their own machines and outlets; distribution channels, meaning arcades or entertainment venues where photo booths are just one type of machine among many; and mall operators, meaning the shopping malls themselves. Selfie Time belongs to the first category.
There are two reasons for this classification. First, its revenue comes from photography itself. Every service on its website involves taking photos: photobooths, Studio Pro self-portrait studios, high-angle and wide-angle studios, ID photos, visa photos, and marriage registration photos. Beyond photography packages, its price list contains only add-ons and merchandise, with no games or other entertainment facilities. Second, its parent group’s core business has nothing to do with photo booths, malls, or arcades, as the next subsection explains.

The Korean line “셀카 타임” means “selfie time.” The name itself makes the Korean-style positioning explicit.
Operating company: PT Fotobox Kreasi Indonesia
| Item | Details | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Company name | PT Fotobox Kreasi Indonesia | Selfie Time website footer, App Store developer page |
| Company type | Limited liability company, or Perseroan Terbatas (PT) | The company name itself |
| Registration number | 1246635 | companieshouse.id, a third-party aggregator identifying Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights as its data source |
| Registered address | Jalan Gading Kirana Timur A-11/15, North Jakarta | Same source as above |
| Incorporation date | Not found; the official website says only that the brand was “founded in 2022” | Official About Us page |
| Person legally responsible for the company; shareholders | Not found | The third-party site above requires a paid report, which was not purchased for this article |
All entries in the table were checked on September 25, 2026. The company name is corroborated by two official sources: its website and the App Store. The registration number and address come only from a third-party aggregator and should be treated as leads. Indonesia’s official company registry, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights’ AHU system, uses a CAPTCHA for online searches, and some information requires payment. This article did not conduct that registry search, so the incorporation date, directors, and shareholders are marked “not found,” rather than “nonexistent.”
Parent group: Inti Nya Group, a home appliance distributor
The website of parent company PT Inti Nya Teknologi lists SELFIETIME alongside Notale, Levoit, and Kingsmith WalkingPad under “Our Brand.” It describes itself as an Indonesian electronics retail distributor with seven retail stores, four warehouses, and service locations across 30 cities. Its headquarters are in Sunter, North Jakarta (PT Inti Nya Teknologi’s official website, checked on September 25, 2026).
Two other pieces of evidence support the connection. Selfie Time recruitment posts often use the joint heading “INTI NYA GROUP - SELFIE TIME ID,” and the email address for résumés uses the parent group’s domain. These are public posts on LinkedIn and Facebook job groups, so they are third-party-platform leads. In addition, when the Grand Indonesia outlet opened in 2023, attendees included not only Selfie Time’s CEO but also a board member and a director of Intinya Group, as discussed in the next section.
The following is an inference, separate from the facts above: for a distributor of air purifiers and walking treadmills entering the photo booth business, the most likely starting advantage is familiarity with hardware procurement, warehousing, and maintenance across a nationwide network. An unmanned photo booth is essentially a piece of hardware placed outside the company’s premises that needs regular paper refills and repairs. That makes it fairly close to the group’s core business. This is this site’s inference; Selfie Time has not offered this explanation officially.
2. Who runs it: the CEO, group executives, and a founder whose identity could not be verified
| Name | Role | Source and reliability |
|---|---|---|
| Stevany Tedy | Selfie Time CEO | Official blog press release from July 2025; Liputan6, June 27, 2025. Media reports in 2023 spelled the name Stevany Teddy. |
| Hendra Irawan | Intinya Group board member (BOD) | Sindonews opening-event photo caption, November 19, 2023 |
| Irena Benedicta | Intinya Group director (Direktur) | Same source as above |
| Samuel Ongkowijaya | Listed as founder on Indonesian Wikipedia | Indonesian Wikipedia. That field has no citation, and this article found no corroborating primary source. |
The conclusion from this table is that CEO Stevany Tedy is currently the only person whose role can be confirmed through both official and media sources. Official press releases and multiple media outlets consistently identify Stevany Tedy as CEO. At the Grand Indonesia opening in 2023, she was also interviewed as CEO and announced the prices (IDN Times, November 18, 2023). Search results for Stevany Tedy’s LinkedIn page show “CEO of Selfie Time ID,” but reading the full page requires a login, so this article did not obtain details of her career history.
The founder entry needs particular explanation. The Indonesian Wikipedia infobox names Samuel Ongkowijaya as founder, but that field has no citation, and most edits to the page came from anonymous accounts. An October 2024 opening report on Selfie Time’s official blog said that “Selfie Time’s two owners” performed the ribbon cutting, but did not name them (official blog, October 8, 2024). This article therefore concludes that no primary source was found for the names of the founder or shareholders. It also found no public interview explaining how Selfie Time was started.
3. History and milestones
| Date | Event | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | The brand was founded. It describes itself as Indonesia’s first operator centered on the “Korean-style photo booth” concept. | Official About Us page, the company’s own account |
| June 2022 | The first outlet opened at Old Shanghai Sedayu City in East Jakarta. | Indonesian Wikipedia, an uncited lead |
| July 2023 | The official blog listed outlets in 13 cities, extending from Jakarta to Surabaya, Bali, Palembang, Medan, Jambi, and Pontianak. | Official blog, July 24, 2023 |
| November 18, 2023 | The Grand Indonesia mall outlet opened. Media reports described it as the 40th branch and the largest at the time. | IDN Times, Sindonews |
| October 5, 2024 | The Lampung outlet opened, with influencer Jerome Polin attending the ribbon cutting. | Official blog, October 8, 2024 |
| November 2024 | The company reported more than 60 branches across Indonesia. | Official blog, November 18, 2024 |
| December 2024 | A Disney Pixar-themed studio launched at Pakuwon Mall Solo Baru in Solo. | Official blog, December 7, 2024 |
| February 13–April 15, 2025 | Disney Winnie the Pooh frames were offered exclusively at the Urban Forest Cipete outlet in Jakarta. | Official blog, February 18, 2025 |
| May 31, 2025 | Selfie Time received a MURI, or Indonesian World Records Museum, record for the “photo booth chain with the most branches.” The company reported 120 branches at the time. On the same day, its largest outlet nationwide opened at Palembang Square in Palembang. | Official press release, July 4, 2025; Liputan6 |
| July 2025 | The company reported 26 new branches since April 2025, bringing the total to 146, and stated a goal of “expanding domestically and internationally.” | Same sources as above |
| November 2025 | Special frames were released to coincide with the theatrical release of Disney’s Zootopia 2. | Official blog, November 27, 2025 |
| January 24, 2026 | A collaboration with independent VTuber group Eon Of Stars brought frames to all outlets and standees to seven outlets. | Official blog, January 28, 2026 |
| September 2026 | Licensed 三麗鷗 character frames were released. The Instagram account had approximately 510,000 followers. | Official Instagram, checked on September 25, 2026 |
| September 22, 2026 | This site retrieved the official outlet list again: 206 entries, comprising 89 outlets and 117 unmanned machines. | photobooth.joelin.cc Indonesia page |
The most striking feature of this timeline is the speed: founded in 2022, the 40th branch in November 2023, 120 branches in May 2025, and 146 in July that year. It grew beyond 100 branches in just over three years. This article found no records of funding rounds, a stock-market listing, or acquisitions in Indonesian media, official press releases, or the parent group’s website. Given its structure as a business funded by a home appliance distribution group, the absence of external fundraising would be plausible, but that is an inference.
Where was the first outlet? Official and media accounts do not agree
The official press release about the 2025 MURI record stated that “Selfie Time’s first outlet opened at Grand Indonesia,” and Liputan6 repeated that statement. Yet during the week of the Grand Indonesia opening in November 2023, both IDN Times and Sindonews reported that it was the “40th branch.” Indonesian Wikipedia instead places the first outlet at Old Shanghai Sedayu City in East Jakarta in June 2022.
This article’s assessment is that reporting from the opening week in 2023 is closer to the event than a retrospective press release two years later, so Grand Indonesia is unlikely to have been the first outlet in the literal sense. The official press release may have meant “the first large flagship outlet,” or may have simplified the story during drafting, but the company has not explained. The Old Shanghai account currently has only one source, Wikipedia, so it cannot be treated as definitive either. Both accounts are presented here pending correction when a primary source becomes available.
4. Outlet counts: what the company says and what this site counted
| Counting basis | Figure | Date | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official: opening sequence reported by media | 40th branch | November 2023 | IDN Times, Sindonews |
| Official: blog | More than 60 branches | November 2024 | Official blog |
| Official: MURI record | 120 branches | May 31, 2025 | Official press release |
| Official: press release | 146 branches | July 2025 | Official press release |
| Official: website About Us page | More than 80 branches | Still displayed when checked on September 25, 2026 | Official website |
| Official outlet list | 206 entries: 89 outlets and 117 unmanned machines | September 22, 2026 | selfietime.id/our-outlets |
| This site’s directory: locations | 176: 175 active and one awaiting confirmation | September 22, 2026 | photobooth.joelin.cc |
| This site’s directory: machines | 209: 205 active and four awaiting confirmation | September 22, 2026 | Same source as above |
The point of this table is how the counts are defined, rather than which number is larger. The website’s “more than 80 branches” is outdated copy that has not been revised; it is lower than the 146 branches the company itself announced in 2025. The company does not explain whether its term “branches,” or cabang, includes unmanned machines. This site, meanwhile, counts an outlet and an unmanned machine in the same mall as one location and two machines, which makes the location count lower than the number of entries in the official list. The figures above from photobooth.joelin.cc are directory counts checked on September 22, 2026, not an official nationwide total.
When this site retrieved the official list again that day, it also excluded two types of entries that were not additional permanent locations. The eight entries under the “Events” tab were campus and exhibition pop-ups. All 79 entries under the “Wide-angle/High-angle” tab already appeared in the outlet list; that tab filters the same outlets by equipment type rather than listing additional locations.
Its position in Indonesia’s photo booth market
Across the 11 brands and 403 Indonesian locations in this site’s directory, Selfie Time appeared at 176 locations, or 44%. Photomatics ranked second with 148, followed by the arcade-based Snapshot Photobox with 70 and the imported Korean brand PHOTOISM with 28.
If each brand present at a location is counted separately, Selfie Time accounts for 37% of all 472 brand-location combinations. By machine count, it has 209 of 515 machines, or approximately 41%. These three calculations differ because a single mall often contains several brands. When comparing brand concentration across countries, this site uses the second calculation, 37%. The Indonesian directory relies primarily on brands’ official lists, and its coverage of small brands and independent shops is incomplete. These proportions are therefore useful for understanding relative position, but should not be treated as market share.
5. Two ways of operating: its own outlets and unmanned machines on other people’s premises
The most interesting thing about Selfie Time is not its scale, but the fact that it operates two quite different kinds of business at once.
| Format | This site’s cataloged count | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Own outlets | 92 machines across 85 locations | Staffed mall shops offering standard photo booths, Studio Pro self-portrait studios, high-angle and wide-angle studios, and ID photos |
| Unmanned standalone machines | 117 machines; 91 locations have only unmanned machines | Individual machines in mall corridors, cafés, retail stores, and stations, with no staff |
The table means that, among the locations cataloged by this site, roughly half are staffed outlets and the other half have only an unmanned machine. Of the 91 locations with only unmanned machines, 78 are in malls, seven are in food and beverage venues, and the remainder are in retail stores, stations, and other settings.
These two formats correspond neatly to two extremes this site has discussed before. In South Korea and Taiwan, the mainstream approach is to open a shop, renting a space and building several physical photo sets. Hong Kong’s SNAPIO opens almost no shops, instead placing machines along public circulation routes inside malls, without paying shop rent or employing shop staff. Selfie Time does both: it opens outlets in large malls to provide an experience and higher-priced Studio Pro services, then uses unmanned machines elsewhere to increase coverage.
Unmanned machines come with a trade-off that this site measured during its Indonesian checks. This site sampled 11 unmanned photo booth machines in third-party venues, covering Selfie Time and two other brands. Not one machine had its own listing on Google Maps, although four of the host venues had Google Business Profiles, with review counts ranging from 32 to 29,984. In other words, the unmanned machines were invisible on the map. Customers could find them only by passing by or consulting the brand’s website list. Outlets were the opposite: all six Selfie Time outlets sampled by this site had their own Google Business Profiles.
6. Geographic distribution: seven in ten locations are on Java
| Province-level administrative unit | Locations |
|---|---|
| West Java (Jawa Barat) | 50 |
| Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKI Jakarta) | 40 |
| Banten | 24 |
| North Sumatra (Sumatera Utara) | 11 |
| East Java (Jawa Timur) | 7 |
| South Sumatra (Sumatera Selatan) | 7 |
| The other 17 province-level units | 37 |
Selfie Time’s 176 locations span 23 province-level administrative units and 44 cities. The six province-level units on Java account for 127 locations, or 72%. The top three—West Java, Jakarta, and Banten—cover the area across which Greater Jakarta, or Jabodetabek, extends. At city level, Bekasi has the most locations with 20, followed by Tangerang with 14. Outside Java, the network reaches as far as Ternate in North Maluku and North Sulawesi, but these areas have only one or two locations each. For a comparison of Indonesia’s 38 province-level units with Taiwan’s area and population, see How Big Is Indonesia?.
7. What it really sells is frames: licensed IP and fan support events
Selfie Time’s website divides its frame catalog into four categories: in-house designs, fanbase collaborations, licensed IP, and seasonal editions. The Disney, Zootopia, and VTuber collaborations in the timeline above fall into the latter two categories, while fanbase collaborations appear most frequently.
This set of 三麗鷗 character frames launched in September 2026. The post’s lower-right corner carries a 三麗鷗 licensing and copyright notice, placing it in the “licensed IP” category. Screenshot from Selfie Time’s official Instagram account, @selfietimeid, September 2026; original post, captured on September 25, 2026.
Fanbase collaborations follow a different rhythm. The image above shows “Frame Event September Part 7” from September 2026: September alone had already reached a seventh wave. This wave listed seven photo booth events, all marking birthdays or debut anniversaries of Korean and Chinese performers, with each running for one to two weeks. The previous wave, Part 6, also included Thai and Indonesian performers. Screenshot from Selfie Time’s official Instagram account, @selfietimeid, September 2026; original post, captured on September 25, 2026. Only the title area was captured, excluding frames containing performers’ photos.
These frame events follow the same logic as birthday fan support events in Taiwan and South Korea: a fan group organizes an event for an idol’s birthday, a photo booth shop supplies limited-edition frames, and fans make a special trip to take photos and collect them. For the origins of fan support culture and how it works in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan, see What Does Fan Support Mean?. For Selfie Time, this creates a new reason to return every week. Frames are software, so the cost of releasing them is far lower than opening a new outlet.
8. Prices
| Package | Contents | Official price |
|---|---|---|
| Photobooth A | Eight shots, all digital files, one 4R print; up to five people | Rp 45,000 |
| Photobooth B | 16 shots, all digital files, two 4R prints; up to five people | Rp 65,000 |
| Studio Pro A | Ten minutes, approximately 40 shots, ten digital files, two 4R prints; up to two people | Rp 99,000 |
| Studio Pro B | Ten minutes, approximately 40 shots, 16 digital files, three 4R prints; up to ten people | Rp 120,000 |
Prices come from Selfie Time’s official price list, checked on September 25, 2026. The basic Rp 45,000 package is broadly within the “Rp 40,000 to 60,000” range that the CEO gave the media at the Grand Indonesia opening in 2023. The entry-level price had not risen noticeably over those three years. For how to read rupiah amounts and convert them to New Taiwan dollars, see Indonesian Rupiah Conversion. To compare the price with local earnings, see Average Salaries in Indonesia.
9. Information this article could not find, and information requiring authorization to obtain
The gaps are collected here for future updates when new sources become available:
- Company incorporation date, directors, and shareholders: only a registration number and address were found on a third-party aggregator. Complete registration information requires payment, and Indonesia’s official AHU system uses a CAPTCHA. This article did not search that system.
- Founder’s name: Indonesian Wikipedia is the only source, and it provides no citation. Official material mentions only “two owners,” without names.
- Date and location of the first outlet: the official press release says Grand Indonesia; media reports say Grand Indonesia was the 40th branch; Wikipedia says Old Shanghai in June 2022. The three accounts are inconsistent.
- Official annual figures for revenue, profit, machines, and outlets: Indonesian media, official press releases, and the parent group’s website disclose no financial figures.
- Funding rounds, a stock-market listing, and acquisitions: no records were found.
- Overseas expansion: in 2025, the company stated a goal of “expanding domestically and internationally.” This site’s directories for other countries currently contain no Selfie Time locations.
- Official press kit: the website has no media asset download section. The brand identity image in this article comes from the website header, and the social media images are cited screenshots of official Instagram posts.
Conclusion: Indonesia’s largest photo booth brand was built by a home appliance distributor
- Selfie Time is a brand rather than a distribution channel. It specializes in photo booths, opens its own outlets, and places its own machines. Its parent, Inti Nya Group, primarily distributes home appliances and does not operate arcades or malls.
- It has grown extremely quickly. Media reports identified the November 2023 opening as its 40th branch, and the company reported 146 branches in July 2025. In September 2026, this site cataloged 176 locations and 209 machines using the official list.
- It combines staffed outlets with unmanned machines. It opens staffed shops in large malls and uses unmanned machines elsewhere to increase coverage, combining the shop-based approach common in South Korea and Taiwan with the machine-based approach used by Hong Kong’s SNAPIO.
- Frames drive its content offering. Licensed IP and fanbase birthday support frames are updated weekly, giving customers continuing reasons to return to the same machine.
- Company-level information remains incomplete. No primary sources were found for the founder, shareholders, incorporation date, or financial figures, and there are three versions of the first-outlet story.

FAQ
Which country is Selfie Time from?
Selfie Time is an Indonesian brand founded in Jakarta in 2022, operated by PT Fotobox Kreasi Indonesia. It emphasizes a Korean-style photo booth aesthetic and shooting experience, but it is not a licensed import of a Korean brand. There is no publicly disclosed licensing relationship with South Korea’s PHOTOISM or 人生四格.
Are Selfie Time machines operated by an arcade or shopping mall?
No. Selfie Time specializes in photo booths, opening its own outlets and placing its own unmanned machines in mall corridors and cafés. Its parent, Inti Nya Group, is a home appliance distributor and does not operate arcades or malls. The other commonly seen Indonesian brand, Snapshot Photobox, is the one whose machines are located inside Timezone arcades.
How many Selfie Time outlets are there in Indonesia?
Official figures have changed over time: the company reported 120 branches when it received the MURI record in May 2025, and 146 in July that year. Its website’s About Us page says “more than 80.” On September 22, 2026, photobooth.joelin.cc checked the official list and cataloged 176 locations and 209 machines, comprising 92 machines in outlets and 117 unmanned machines. These are this site’s cataloged counts, not an official nationwide total.
How much does a Selfie Time session cost?
According to the official website’s price list, checked on September 25, 2026, the basic Photobooth A package costs Rp 45,000 for eight shots, all digital files, and one 4R print, accommodating up to five people. Photobooth B costs Rp 65,000. Studio Pro, which offers packages accommodating larger groups, starts at Rp 99,000.
Is Selfie Time connected to Taiwan’s Snapshot 妞拍貼?
There is no publicly disclosed connection. It is also important to distinguish Indonesia’s Snapshot Photobox machines inside Timezone arcades from Taiwan’s Snapshot 妞拍貼: those two are likewise unrelated and merely share a name.
