Summary

BANDAI NAMCO (バンダイナムコ) operates at both the venue-operator and brand levels of Japan’s photo sticker booth business. Its namco arcades are operated by 株式会社バンダイナムコアミューズメント, whose official business description is “operation of entertainment facilities.” Photo sticker booths are just one type of machine in these arcades. photobooth.joelin.cc lists 161 namco locations in Japan with photo sticker booths, comprising 641 machine-model registrations across 45 prefectures. The official website does not publish a total store count for the namco brand alone.

The same company also operates eggnam, a photo sticker specialty-store brand. Its official website lists two stores, verified on September 25, 2026: one on the ninth floor of HEP FIVE in Osaka and one on the second floor of 横浜ワールドポーターズ. Both provide free makeup stations, costume rentals, and hair straightener rentals. The website’s slogan, “One of the world’s largest purikura specialty stores,” carries a footnote specifying that the claim applies to the HEP FIVE store and is based on the company’s own March 2023 survey.

This site records the HEP FIVE location under “バンダイナムコ Cross Store 大阪梅田.” Cross Store is the group’s experiential retail format. Its flagship opened at サンシャインシティ in Ikebukuro on March 18, 2023, and this site lists eight Cross Store venues with photo sticker booths. There is also a “シールプリント専門店namco” in Natori, Miyagi Prefecture; only this one location has been identified so far.

In the corporate structure, バンダイナムコエクスペリエンス, established on February 14, 2025, acquired all shares in バンダイナムコアミューズメント through a corporate split and oversees the Amusement Unit. At the top is バンダイナムコホールディングス, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s Prime Market under code 7832. Hong Kong’s NAMCO is operated by the group’s overseas affiliate NAMCO ENTERPRISES ASIA, a separate legal entity from the Japanese operator.

The original Chinese article was published and updated on September 25, 2026. The research dates and market information below retain that original snapshot.

Japan’s namco is an arcade chain, where photo sticker booths are just one of many types of machines. But the company that operates it, バンダイナムコアミューズメント, also runs eggnam, a separate specialty-store brand dedicated entirely to photo stickers. Its official website lists two stores, verified on September 25, 2026: the HEP FIVE store in Osaka’s Umeda district and the 横浜ワールドポーターズ store. In the photo booth database I maintain, the HEP FIVE location is recorded under the group’s new retail format, “バンダイナムコ Cross Store 大阪梅田.”

This article covers one operator in the series on Japan’s arcade chains. The overview brings together all ten chains and their parent companies. Here, the focus is BANDAI NAMCO: how an arcade operator develops a photo sticker brand, and what photo sticker booths look like within a new format such as Cross Store.

Three names recur throughout this article. First, here is what their logos look like, from top to bottom:

Three brand logos arranged vertically: the BANDAI NAMCO group logo in a red speech-bubble outline, the black handwritten-style eggnam logo, and the red-outlined BANDAI NAMCO logo with Cross Store in black lettering.

  • バンダイナムコ (BANDAI NAMCO) is the group name. Its ultimate parent is バンダイナムコホールディングス, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s Prime Market.
  • eggnam is a photo sticker specialty-store brand run by the group’s operating company. Its official website lists two stores.
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store is the group’s experiential retail format. Some locations have photo sticker booths.

Their relationship is straightforward: the same operating company within the BANDAI NAMCO group runs namco arcades, eggnam, and Cross Store. The following sections examine each in turn.

namco is a venue operator; eggnam is a brand

This series uses a three-level framework:

  • Manufacturers make the machines. Examples include FURYU and SEGA.
  • Venue operators run businesses where photo sticker booths are just one type of machine on the premises. Examples include GiGO, タイトー, and namco.
  • Brands are local stores dedicated to photo stickers. Examples include girls mignon, Photoism, brooming, and eggnam.

Within this framework, one BANDAI NAMCO company occupies two categories. namco arcades are venues: the operator officially describes its business as “エンターテインメント施設の運営,” or “operation of entertainment facilities.” Claw machines, medal-game machines, capsule toy machines, and photo sticker booths sit alongside one another. eggnam, by contrast, is a separate brand created by the same company. Its official website labels it a “プリントシール専門店,” or photo sticker specialty store, with its own brand page, store name, and visual identity.

Shopping-mall settings such as AEON and PARCO have a different structure and are outside the scope of this series.

Corporate structure: operating company, intermediate holding company, and listed parent

Level Company Listed?
Operations バンダイナムコアミューズメント Unlisted
Intermediate holding company バンダイナムコエクスペリエンス Unlisted
Ultimate parent バンダイナムコホールディングス Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, 7832

Read this table from bottom to top. When you walk into namco or eggnam, the operating entity is 株式会社バンダイナムコアミューズメント, established on March 31, 2006. It operates facilities including namco arcades, eggnam, and Cross Store. One level above it is 株式会社バンダイナムコエクスペリエンス, established on February 14, 2025. Above that is the listed 株式会社バンダイナムコホールディングス.

The middle layer was added in the 2025 reorganization. In February 2025, the holding company announced that it would transfer all shares in バンダイナムコアミューズメント to the newly established バンダイナムコエクスペリエンス through a corporate split, in conjunction with the new medium-term plan beginning in April 2025. バンダイナムコエクスペリエンス oversees the entire Amusement Unit and handles the planning and sale of facilities and machine content, while バンダイナムコアミューズメント focuses on operating facilities. For photo stickers, this means planning and store operations are assigned to two companies. The company running eggnam and namco stores today is the one dedicated to operations.

eggnam: a photo sticker specialty-store brand with two stores on its official website

The slogan on eggnam’s official homepage is “世界最大級のプリ専門店,” or “One of the world’s largest purikura specialty stores.” A footnote below it reads “※HEP FIVE店が対象、2023年3月当社調べ”: the claim applies only to the HEP FIVE store and is based on the company’s own March 2023 survey, rather than third-party statistics.

A pink ribbon on eggnam’s official homepage reads “One of the world’s largest* purikura specialty stores.” Two lines below describe a place to create and share memories with friends and people who matter to you. The small-print footnote at the bottom states, “*Applies to the HEP FIVE store; based on our company’s March 2023 survey.”

The website describes the brand as a place to create and share memories with friends and people who matter to you. It also holds seasonal events and changes its photo spots with the seasons.

Store Makeup stations Costumes Hair straighteners

横浜ワールドポーターズ store (second floor) Available Available Available

The two stores offer exactly the same services. Both are listed as providing free makeup stations, officially called “無料ドレッサー,” costume rentals (“コスプレ衣装貸出”), and hair straightener rentals (“ヘアアイロン貸出”). Rental charges and opening hours are published on the official website, but these figures change frequently, so they are not reproduced here. Check the eggnam official website before visiting.

Announcements on the official website over the preceding year fall broadly into three categories:

  • New-machine announcements, including one new model beginning operation in February 2026 and another in March 2026.
  • Seasonal events, such as the 2026 Halloween campaign.
  • The “バースデープラン,” a special offer for visits during your birthday month.

Where the official website says nothing, this article records that no information was found. eggnam’s official website provides no explanation of changing rooms, a membership or app system, or restrictions based on gender or visiting alone.

This site gives eggnam its own brand profile, listing two venues and 29 machine-model registrations. The registered models at both stores come from more than one manufacturer, including the Korean brand’s Photoism Booth. This is something photo sticker specialty stores and arcades have in common: the store has its own name, but the machines are still purchased from manufacturers.

The HEP FIVE location: a specialty store inside Cross Store

HEP FIVE in Osaka’s Umeda district is the most interesting part of this story because three identities overlap within one building.

  • On eggnam’s official website, it is “eggnam HEP FIVE店,” with an address on HEP FIVE’s ninth floor.
  • In this site’s records, the venue appears under “バンダイナムコ Cross Store 大阪梅田,” covering HEP FIVE’s eighth and ninth floors. eggnam is on the ninth floor.
  • In July 2022, an official announcement issued under the name “namco HEP FIVE店” introduced costume, accessory, and hair straightener rentals, along with a makeup area (official announcement from namco HEP FIVE店).

In other words, the services eggnam provides today were introduced in 2022 under the namco arcade name. Official sources do not explain when or how the store’s name changed from namco to eggnam, so this article does not speculate.

What is Cross Store?

バンダイナムコ Cross Store is not a traditional arcade. Its official positioning is a physical point of contact where visitors can “観る・触れる・体験する”—see, touch, and experience—the characters, merchandise, events, and food and drink offerings of the group’s companies (バンダイナムコ Cross Store official website). The flagship, “バンダイナムコ Cross Store 東京,” opened at サンシャインシティ in Ikebukuro on March 18, 2023. Reporting described it as an experiential retail facility developed under the group’s “IP axis strategy” (gamebiz’s 2023 report).

The long row on the left consists of capsule toy machines; the display on the right features character cards. No photo sticker booths are visible from this angle. Eight of the namco locations listed on this site are Cross Stores, all confirmed to have photo sticker booths:

  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store 越谷レイクタウン
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store 横浜
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store イオンモール高岡店
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store 名古屋
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store 京都
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store 大阪梅田
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store イオンモール大日
  • バンダイナムコ Cross Store 博多

These eight are Cross Store venues this site has confirmed have photo sticker booths, not the total number of Cross Stores. A Cross Store’s absence from this list also cannot be taken to mean it has no photo sticker booths. Apart from eggnam on the ninth floor of the Osaka Umeda location, no official information was found on whether other Cross Stores give their photo sticker areas separate names.

Storefronts inside イオンモール大日 in March 2025: a namco arcade with a red sign on the left and an entrance bearing a BANDAI NAMCO Cross Store sign in the center. The two storefronts stand side by side on the same mall floor, beneath a border of colorful squares along the ceiling.

What Cross Store changes for photo stickers is what sits beside them. In an arcade, the neighboring machines are claw machines and medal games. In Cross Store, the neighbors become official merchandise shops for the group’s IP, limited-time events, and collaboration-themed food and drink. The photo sticker machines themselves have not changed. The reason people visit has.

Natori’s “シールプリント専門店namco”: another approach along the same path

Inside イオンモール名取 in Natori, Miyagi Prefecture, there is a store explicitly named “シールプリント専門店namco,” meaning “namco photo sticker specialty store.” The mall’s official tenant page describes it as a store specializing in photo sticker machines, with new models, popular established models, and a space for getting ready before taking photos (イオンモール名取 tenant page). It reopened after relocating on October 24, 2025.

Its difference from eggnam is branding. The name explicitly identifies it as a specialty store, but it still carries the namco brand, without a separate brand page or visual identity. Only this Natori location has been identified so far. Official sources provide no information on whether there are other branches using the same naming format.

Putting BANDAI NAMCO’s photo sticker settings in Japan side by side reveals four formats coexisting within the same company:

Infographic titled “How much of the store is devoted to photo stickers?” Four rows of blocks compare BANDAI NAMCO’s four settings. In the namco arcade row, one of six blocks represents photo stickers. In both the Natori specialty-store row and the eggnam specialty-store row, all six blocks represent photo stickers. In the Cross Store row, one block represents photo stickers, two represent game machines, and three represent IP merchandise.

Format Example The place of photo stickers within the store
Arcade branch namco locations One of many types of machines
Individual specialty store Natori’s シールプリント専門店namco, still under the namco name The whole store focuses on photo stickers
Specialty-store brand eggnam, with its own brand name and two stores on its official website, verified on September 25, 2026 The whole store is dedicated to photo stickers
Experiential retail バンダイナムコ Cross Store An area alongside character merchandise, events, and food and drink

This table is not a timeline. It shows four approaches that exist simultaneously. Reading from top to bottom, photo stickers first occupy the space of a machine, then an entire store, and finally return to being an “area.” But that area’s neighbors have changed from machines to IP merchandise. For a group whose core businesses are IP and games, photo stickers can be one type of arcade machine or a way for fans to take home a commemorative photo beside their favorite characters.

namco itself: 161 locations with photo sticker booths listed on this site

This site lists 161 namco locations in Japan with photo sticker booths, totaling 641 machine-model registrations across 45 prefectures. Each entry appears in the namco brand profile. The count includes only locations this site has confirmed have photo sticker booths; locations without them are not included.

The official website does not publish an aggregate store count for the namco brand alone, as checked on September 24, 2026, so this article does not give a total store count. Nor can 161 be subtracted from any total store count to infer that “the remaining stores have no photo sticker booths.”

Photo sticker services at ordinary namco branches vary by location:

  • Makeup stations and hair straightener rentals: this site’s records list both at namco池袋店 and namco立川髙島屋S.C.店. No information was found confirming whether all branches offer them.
  • Costume rentals: no unified official explanation was found on whether ordinary branches other than HEP FIVE provide them. Individual store announcements need to be checked.
  • Changing rooms and photo sticker discounts through a membership or app: no company-wide system was found in official sources.

Machines from several manufacturers usually coexist within one branch. This is the essence of a venue operator’s role: namco determines the location, visitor traffic, and services, rather than the machines themselves. For the story at the machine-manufacturer level, see the FURYU company study.

Hong Kong’s NAMCO is a separate company

The NAMCO arcades familiar to Hong Kong readers—where photo stickers are commonly called “貼紙相”—are not the same legal entity as Japan’s namco.

  • The footer of Hong Kong NAMCO’s official website attributes copyright to NAMCO ENTERPRISES ASIA LIMITED (NAMCO Hong Kong official website).
  • The Japanese official website’s affiliated-companies page lists NAMCO ENTERPRISES ASIA LTD. as an overseas affiliate. The same page also lists affiliates in the United States, Europe, Shanghai, and India (バンダイナムコ affiliated companies).
  • Japan’s namco is operated by 株式会社バンダイナムコアミューズメント.

The accurate description, therefore, is that both belong to the BANDAI NAMCO group, but Hong Kong NAMCO is neither a branch nor a franchise of the Japanese company. It is independently operated by a separate legal entity. No official information was found on the ownership percentages or brand-licensing arrangements between the two companies.

Putting this back into Japan’s photo sticker venue landscape

Most photo sticker machines in Japan are located in arcades, and machine supply is highly concentrated among a small number of manufacturers. What distinguishes venue operators is how much extra they are willing to do for photo stickers. BANDAI NAMCO’s approach is to keep installing machines in arcades as usual, while also turning photo stickers into an entire store under a separate brand, then placing that store within a new format centered on the group’s IP.

タイトー’s brooming also grew from a venue operator into a photo sticker brand, but followed a different path: from dedicated areas within arcade branches to entire stores adopting a new sign. The two approaches are compared in the overview. For how Japan’s entire photo sticker industry developed over thirty years, see the main article on Japanese photo sticker history.

FAQ

eggnam is a photo sticker specialty-store brand operated by 株式会社バンダイナムコアミューズメント. Officially described as a “プリントシール専門店,” it has two stores listed on its official website: the HEP FIVE store in Osaka and the 横浜ワールドポーターズ store, verified on September 25, 2026. The same company also operates namco arcades, where photo sticker booths are just one of many types of machines. eggnam, by contrast, dedicates the entire store to photo stickers and has its own store name and brand page.

Can you rent clothes at eggnam to dress up for photos?

Yes. Both stores on eggnam’s official website list costume rentals, hair straightener rentals, and free makeup stations. Rental charges and opening hours are published on the official website, but they change frequently, so this article does not reproduce the figures. Check eggnam’s official website before visiting.

Is バンダイナムコ Cross Store an arcade?

Not entirely. Cross Store is officially positioned as a physical point of contact where visitors can “see, touch, and experience” the characters, merchandise, events, and food and drink offerings of the group’s companies. Its flagship opened at サンシャインシティ in Ikebukuro on March 18, 2023. Some Cross Stores have photo sticker booths; this site lists eight such venues. The ninth floor of the Osaka Umeda location houses eggnam’s HEP FIVE store.

Are Hong Kong’s NAMCO and Japan’s namco the same company?

They are separate legal entities. Hong Kong’s NAMCO is operated by NAMCO ENTERPRISES ASIA LTD., an overseas group affiliate listed on the Japanese official website’s affiliated-companies page. Japan’s namco is operated by 株式会社バンダイナムコアミューズメント. Both belong to the BANDAI NAMCO group, but Hong Kong NAMCO is not a branch of the Japanese company. No official information was found on ownership percentages or brand-licensing arrangements between the two companies.
