This guide uses Instagram as its starting point for identifying common fan-support formats in Taiwan. It combines the original May 2024 examples with the Chinese article’s August 2026 advertising-price update. Listed prices are dated records, not current supplier quotations.

Photo booth support

A fan-designed frame on a photo booth lets visitors take home photographs incorporating an idol’s support artwork. See the 拍貼應援 Instagram tag and the original example post.

What did birthday-support advertising cost?

There is no single price. Some placements are rented monthly, others by campaign or broadcast slot, and some have no published tariff at all. The source records a range where information was available and otherwise says that an individual quotation is needed.

Placement Typical charging unit Price recorded in the August 2026 source Important conditions
Metro lightbox Campaign, often about two weeks to one month Individual quotation required Metro websites publish available spaces, not tariffs. Contractors differ by line and station; negotiate with the relevant contractor.
Bus exterior or interior panel Per panel, including production and display About NT$10,800–25,800 per panel Depends on format such as full panel, the small bus-ad category labelled 破窗, or rear panel, duration and route.
Large outdoor LED screen Campaign or broadcast slot Individual quotation required Operators in areas such as Ximending do not publish a full price list; screen size and time slot affect the quote.
Café event, booking or partnership Venue and time period Individual quotation required Venue fees, minimum spending and decorating restrictions vary widely; most cafés have no dedicated birthday-support tariff.
Photo booth frame submission Weeks online From NT$1,000 for one week SMILE’s self-designed eight-cell frame: one week NT$1,000; two NT$1,200; three NT$1,400; four NT$1,600 maximum. Layout service adds NT$500; frames go live on Mondays.

The source identified three Taiwanese operators accepting support submissions. SMILE was the only one of those three with a published tariff. Snapshot 妞拍貼 and TimeStopPhoto 韓國四格美拍屋 directed applicants to a questionnaire or specification document without a public price table. Compare their intake routes at the photo booth support-service directory and the submission-provider guide.

Two options have clearer recorded costs: bus advertising, at a little over NT$10,000 to over NT$20,000 per panel including production and display; and SMILE frames, starting at NT$1,000 and reaching NT$1,600 for four weeks. Metro lightboxes and outdoor LED screens depend on traffic, station or playback slot and cannot be represented by one fixed number. Café partnerships depend on premises and minimum-spend rules, while frame submissions depend on whether the operator is still accepting work and its specifications. Ask before committing funds.

For a first project on a limited budget, the source suggests testing a thousand-dollar frame placement first, using bus advertising as the next relatively transparent budget reference, and considering lightboxes or LED screens only if the funding permits. This is a Taiwan project comparison, not a worldwide price ladder.

Building a realistic budget

The table primarily concerns placements; an actual project may add costs easily overlooked:

  • Design: lightboxes, buses and LED screens need layouts for their own formats; a social-media image cannot simply be forced into any panel. A designer is an additional expense if the organizer lacks the skill.
  • Materials and production: café sleeves, stands, cards and frame-related materials may require printing or outsourced work. More units may lower the unit price while still increasing the total.
  • Review and revisions: contractors often approve artwork before publication. Revision time can be underestimated, especially when campaign dates or permitted revision rounds are tight.
  • Deposits: café bookings and machine-rental partnerships may require a deposit or advance payment; amounts differ by provider.

For unpublished fees, ask the actual supplier. Do not calculate a budget by copying an unrelated project’s figures.

Taiwanese fans often share the expense through crowdfunding: a fan account announces the target and purposes, accepts contributions for a period, and confirms the placement after the target is reached. If it is not reached, organizers may choose a lower-cost format or postpone to another occasion.

Which birthday-support options usually have a lower entry cost?

Among advertising placements, a bus rear panel or a small bus-ad placement in the Taiwanese industry category labelled 破窗 usually has the lowest entry threshold. The source does not provide a precise specification for that category, so confirm the actual placement with the supplier.

If the project need not use outdoor advertising, a photo booth frame or a cup-sleeve partnership with an existing shop usually has a lower budget threshold than buying out an entire advertising panel. This is a general comparison, not a fixed tariff: ask each provider for the actual cost.

Looking up birthdays and anniversaries

A date is needed before scheduling either kind of event. Fan Support records dates on individual pages with source levels: checked against two sources, a single official source, or supplied by fans; unavailable dates are marked unpublished rather than guessed. The original section mentions a historical snapshot of 195 support recipients. That is the figure in the source text, not a current count of the directory.
