The official 2024 salary percentiles
Taiwan’s Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) publishes annual total earnings for employees in industry and services. For 2024, the median was NT$546,000. Half of the employees in this statistical population earned less and half earned more.

The D9 value is the entry point to the top tenth within the covered employee population. It is about 2.45 times the median.
What “annual total earnings” means
This measure includes regular salary, overtime, bonuses and other nonregular earnings received during the year. Dividing the median by 12 gives NT$45,500, but that is only an arithmetic monthly average. It is not the official monthly base-salary median.
The statistical population covers employees in industry and services, including full-time and part-time workers and foreign employees. It does not represent self-employed income, investment gains or every working-age resident. DGBAS separately reports NT$585,000 as the 2024 median for full-time Taiwanese employees.
A simple planning comparison
If someone saves 15% of annual total earnings, the arithmetic amount would be:

How to use the table
Compare the same concept: your total employment earnings for the calendar year, including bonuses, against the table. A value between D7 and D8 means it falls somewhere between the 70th and 80th percentile boundaries; the table does not reveal an exact rank within that interval.
The release is useful for orientation, but it should not be treated as a wage offer guide. Industry, occupation, seniority, working hours and location can produce very different pay levels.
