This article has two parts: purchasing a Korean-style photo booth as a business operator, and paying for a retail photo session in Taiwan. The observations below come from the Chinese article’s 2023 price record and its January 2025 update; they are not global prices or a quotation for today.
Buying a machine to operate a business
The January 2025 account divides machines into three origins:
- Chinese unbranded machines.
- Korean branded machines, which the account describes as almost all manufactured under contract in China.
- Taiwanese branded machines, said to be manufactured locally.
Korean machines generally have to be obtained from a Korean photo booth brand, either through import or a franchise arrangement. Payment processing, invoices, warranties and consumables remain matters to resolve after purchase.
Chinese unbranded machines were the mainstream choice in the middle and lower price bands in this account. Their advantage was low cost, with faster depreciation as the trade-off: after roughly a year of use, screens could yellow, become washed out, or develop touch problems.
The account identified Snapshot 妞拍貼 as the only supplier of Taiwanese branded machines in that market at the time. Their advantage was a depreciation period that could reach more than three years; their disadvantage was the highest price in the market described. These are the original observations, not a fresh survey of all suppliers.
Retail session price bands in Taiwan
Snapshot 妞拍貼: NT$100–200
- Half-body booths in shops started at NT$150.
- Full-body booths in shops were NT$200.
- Standalone roadside machines were NT$100.
The NT$100 price band disappeared around the middle of 2024, according to the article’s update.
Kr4cut: NT$200–300
- Shops mainly used half-body machines, starting at NT$200 per session.
- Some locations nevertheless charged only NT$100 for a session.
- Four-frame sessions at this brand were mostly NT$200 for two prints.
Its street-front shops gradually disappeared from late 2024 into early 2025, as recorded in the update.
Life Four Cuts: NT$150–400
Licensed Korean celebrity frames could reach NT$400. Ordinary sessions were around NT$150.
