Korean-style photo booth prices in Taiwan changed in several stages. The first three stages below were described in the original March 2023 article; the later brand review was added in 2026.

Stage one: standalone roadside machines

At the first stage, an automated booth was much like an ID photo machine: you went inside, took a picture, and came out. There were no props or decorative frames. One session was priced at NT$100.

A representative operator was 仙女下凡 (TimeStopPhotoTW). One linked news story about people using such a booth helps explain why that operator became a recognizable example: Liberty Times report.

Stage two: dedicated shops

The change was from a single machine to a shop. Snapshot was the representative example in this account (shop location).

The standard offering now included a grooming area, an indoor storefront, props and air conditioning. Prices rose from NT$100 to NT$150–300 per session.

Stage three: distinctive themed shops

The next difference was a shift from an ordinary photo booth shop to a themed one. Examples included Caja in Ximending and Freeze Film in Taichung’s Yizhong area.

Stage four: still under observation

The original account leaves the fourth stage open for observation; it does not supply a settled new price band.

The pricing model originated in Korea. In December 2022, Joe photographed examples there: Photogray RAD offered KRW4,000 and KRW5,000 tiers, original Life Four Cuts advertised two prints for KRW4,000 under a 1+1 offer, and Photo Signature already had four price tiers. These are dated field records.

Frequently asked questions

How did prices evolve in Taiwan?

The first stage was a standalone roadside machine priced at NT$100 per session. The second added shops, grooming areas, props and air conditioning, at NT$150–300. The third introduced distinctive themed venues such as Caja and Freeze Film. The fourth stage remained under observation in the original account.

What did a first-stage session cost?

NT$100. The machines functioned much like ID booths and offered neither props nor frames. 仙女下凡 was the representative operator.

What did the shop-based second stage cost?

NT$150–300 per session, compared with NT$100 at the first stage. The added facilities were grooming space, an indoor shop, props and air conditioning; Snapshot was the representative example.

What did the 2026 review find?

A brand-by-brand recheck three years later found clear divergence. Freeze Film kept a flat NT$100 price from 2023 to 2026. SMILE changed the same product from NT$100 to NT$200 for two prints in October 2024. Kr4Cut never lowered its NT$200 listed price, instead using promotions to reduce what customers actually paid.

The broader development and its comparison with annual search volume are discussed in Taiwan’s photo booth industry history.
