# Who Runs KPIX? The Company, Location Counts and GSC Cinema Partnership Behind Malaysia's Most Widely Distributed Photo Booth Brand

## Summary

This article investigates the Malaysian photo booth brand KPIX. Its operator, KPIX Venture Sdn Bhd (registration number 202201029167), was incorporated on August 9, 2022, and is registered at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. Its registered business activities include operating photo booth machines and coin-operated service machines. KPIX Venture Pte Ltd in Singapore (incorporated February 13, 2023) and KPIX Australia Pty Ltd in Australia (ABN effective May 11, 2023) operate under the same brand name; their ownership relationships have not been disclosed.

As of September 28, 2026, photobooth.joelin.cc listed KPIX at 48 venues with 63 machines across 13 Malaysian jurisdictions (states and federal territories), with 39 venues marked active and nine awaiting confirmation. The official website claims four studios and at least 60 machines. Its location table contains 50 rows and has not been updated since February 2025. Official Instagram posts also identify Imago, Mayang Mall, Batu Pahat Mall and eight GSC cinemas that are absent from that table. This site's database added those locations on September 25, 2026, with Batu Pahat Mall marked as awaiting confirmation.

KPIX primarily places individual machines in shopping mall corridors. From December 2025, it began jointly promoting cinema photo booths and exclusive frames with GSC's merchandise brand, Keepsake by GSC. No founder or director names were found. Although KPIX claims to be Korea's number one, no relationship with a Korean company was found. A Singapore media report traced a local machine to a Chinese supplier.

### Key facts

- KPIX's operating company is KPIX Venture Sdn Bhd, registration number 202201029167 (previous format: 1474864-M). According to third-party CTOS data, it was incorporated on August 9, 2022. Its registered address is L3-230, IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.
- photobooth.joelin.cc lists KPIX at 48 venues with 63 machines across 13 Malaysian jurisdictions (states and federal territories): 39 venues active and nine awaiting confirmation. These figures were checked on September 28, 2026, and are not an official nationwide total.
- Of the 82 Malaysian venues in the database, 48 have KPIX machines. The second-largest brand has only seven. Counting each brand's presence at each venue separately, KPIX accounts for 48 of 117 brand–venue entries, or approximately 41%.
- The official website states “4 studio and 60+ Photo-Taking Boxes Nationwide.” Its location table has 50 rows and was last modified on February 19, 2025.
- Official Instagram posts identify locations absent from the website table: Imago in Kota Kinabalu, Mayang Mall, Batu Pahat Mall and eight GSC cinemas. All have been added to this site's database; Batu Pahat Mall is awaiting confirmation.
- KPIX and GSC's merchandise brand, Keepsake by GSC, jointly posted promotions for cinema photo booths. The earliest such post found for this article dates to December 2025. An RM5 discount voucher for cinema audiences followed in June 2026.
- Singapore's KPIX Venture Pte Ltd was incorporated on February 13, 2023. The ABN for KPIX Australia Pty Ltd became effective on May 11, 2023, and its website lists 22 locations. Ownership relationships among the companies in the three countries have not been disclosed.
- No founder, director or shareholder names were found in free public sources. The website claims to be Korea's number one, but no connection with any Korean company was found. A 2023 GirlStyle Singapore report identified a Chinese supplier behind a local machine.

The original Chinese article was published on September 25, 2026, and last updated on October 2, 2026. The research dates and market figures below retain that historical snapshot.

KPIX is the photo booth brand with the most listed venues and the widest distribution in this site's Malaysian database. Of the 82 Malaysian venues listed on photobooth.joelin.cc, 48 have KPIX machines, totaling 63 machines across 13 jurisdictions (states and federal territories). These are photobooth.joelin.cc's recorded figures, checked on September 28, 2026, rather than an official nationwide total. Of the 48 venues, 39 were marked active because no contrary evidence was found, and nine were marked “awaiting confirmation.”

The company behind the brand is KPIX Venture Sdn Bhd, Malaysian registration number 202201029167, incorporated on August 9, 2022, and registered at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya. It opens relatively few shops. Instead, it mainly places individual machines in mall corridors, at cinema entrances and in spaces beside supermarkets, alongside small self-portrait studios in four malls. From late 2025, it began working with Keepsake by GSC, the merchandise brand of cinema chain GSC, to place machines inside cinemas. Singapore and Australia each have a company with the same name operating the KPIX brand locally.

The discussion below covers the company, location counts, products and cinema partnership, and timeline. Figures are accompanied by verification dates and sources. Third-party sources are identified, and where information could not be found, the article states that explicitly and explains where the research looked.

This article covers KPIX alone. For the placement models used across Malaysia's market—mall corridors, cinemas, neighborhood malls and small self-portrait studios—see [Malaysia's photo booth market formats](/p/9857).

The footer on every page of the official website, its contact page, official Instagram bio and official Linktree all give the same company name and registration number:

| Item | Details | Source (checked September 25, 2026) |
|---|---|---|

| Registration number | 202201029167 (previous format: 1474864-M) | Same as above; the official Instagram bio and official Linktree title also display the same numbers |
| Incorporation date | August 9, 2022 | Third party: [CTOS company report page](https://businessreport.ctoscredit.com.my/oneoffreport_api/single-report/malaysia-company/1474864M/KPIX-VENTURE-SDN-BHD-) (data sourced from Malaysia's Companies Commission, SSM) |
| Registered business activities | Retail through vending machines; operation of photo booth machines and coin-operated service machines | Same as above (original wording: OPERATION OF PHOTO BOOTH MACHINES AND COIN OPERATED SERVICE MACHINES) |
| Registered address | L3-230, 3rd Floor IOI City Mall 2, IOI Resort City, 62502 Putrajaya | [KPIX's official contact page](https://www.kpixstudio.com.my/contact/) |
| Official website domain | kpixstudio.com.my, registered July 11, 2024; registrant: KPIX VENTURE SDN. BHD. | WHOIS lookup through Malaysia's domain registry, MYNIC |

| Official Instagram account size | 2,689 followers, 210 posts | Official Instagram profile |

The incorporation date comes from the public page of third-party credit reporting company CTOS, rather than an SSM document obtained directly for this article. It is consistent with the registration number. SSM began using 12-digit registration numbers on October 11, 2019. Its announcement gives “201901000005” as an example for a company registered in 2019 ([SSM announcement](https://www.ssm.com.my/Lists/Announcement/AnnouncementDetails.aspx?ID=134)); the first four digits indicate the registration year. KPIX's “2022…” matches the year given by CTOS.

The registered address, L3-230 at IOI City Mall, is also the unit number recorded in this site's database for KPIX's IOI City Mall location in Putrajaya. The company's headquarters is registered at its own outlet.

### Founder and management team: no information found

No names of directors, shareholders or founders were found for this article. The research checked:

- All five pages of KPIX's official website—Home, About, Gallery, Locations and Contact. None contains a person's name, and there is no privacy policy or terms of service page.
- Directors and shareholders of the Malaysian company are listed only in paid SSM reports. The public pages on both CTOS and CreditScan indicate that a report must be purchased. No paid report was obtained for this article.
- Searches in English, Chinese and Malay for founders, interviews and LinkedIn profiles, including searches restricted to Malaysian media and forums such as The Star, SAYS and Lowyat. No KPIX founder interview or company profile was found.

The company can therefore currently be described in terms of its legal entity, registered location and business activities, but not the people running it.

### The same brand in three other countries

The official About page states “Global business in 3 overseas countries” and lists Malaysia, Singapore and Australia ([KPIX's official About page](https://www.kpixstudio.com.my/home-2/), checked September 25, 2026). A KPIX legal entity or location can be found in each of those three countries, alongside an Indonesian account:

| Country | Findings | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | KPIX VENTURE PTE. LTD., registration number 202305166W, incorporated February 13, 2023 | Third party: [RecordOwl company page](https://recordowl.com/company/kpix-venture-pte-ltd) (data sourced from Singapore's ACRA) |
| Australia | KPIX AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, ABN 65 667 905 473, effective May 11, 2023, with its main business location in Western Australia. Its website lists 22 locations, mostly in shopping centers such as Westfield | [Australian government ABN lookup](https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View?abn=65667905473); [KPIX Australia's official locations page](https://kpix.com.au/locations) |
| Indonesia | Instagram account @kpixstudio.idn, named “KPIX SELFIE STUDIO INDONESIA.” Its bio lists locations including Plaza Medan Fair in Medan and Surabaya | [Instagram @kpixstudio.idn](https://www.instagram.com/kpixstudio.idn/) (operating entity not found) |

All entries were checked on September 25, 2026.

This table establishes only that the same brand name appears in four countries. It does not establish that all four operations have the same owner. The Singapore and Malaysian companies are both named KPIX Venture, and the Malaysian website lists Singapore and Australia as its overseas locations, making it highly likely that they belong to the same group. However, no public document specifies the ownership relationships among the companies in the three countries. That remains an inference.

### Where the machines come from: a claim to be Korea's number one, but the available clue points to China

KPIX's homepage slogan is “Korea's No. 1 Photo-Booth Experience in Malaysia.” Its About page also states: “Korea's first and largest self-studio with 4 studios nationwide and 60+ photo-taking boxes in five years after its launch. (As of May 2022).” The latter sentence claims to describe Korea's first and largest operator, and its reference date, May 2022, is three months before the Malaysian company's incorporation. It does not fit that company's history. A search for the exact English sentence did not identify the company it originally came from.

No licensing or ownership relationship between KPIX and any Korean company was found either. Searches using the Korean “케이픽스” together with “셀프스튜디오” and “포토부스” returned no results.

The only hardware-related clue comes from Singapore. On June 17, 2023, lifestyle publication GirlStyle Singapore tried the KPIX machine at Northpoint City in Yishun. It found that the email address delivering digital files used a domain linked to jeepai.com. The writer therefore described the machine as coming from a Chinese company rather than a Korean one ([GirlStyle Singapore](https://girlstyle.com/sg/article/130646/kpix-photo-booth-singapore), third-party source). jeepai.com belongs to a Shenzhen company selling self-portrait machines and photography software. This clue concerns only that one machine in Singapore. There is no evidence here establishing whether the Malaysian machines use the same supplier, so this article draws no conclusion on that point.

## 2. Location counts: the official claim is at least 60 machines, the website table has 50 rows, and this site lists 48 venues

KPIX's public figures use different counting methods. Here they are side by side:

| Counting method | Figure | Source and verification date |
|---|---|---|
| Official claim | “4 studio and 60+ Photo-Taking Boxes Nationwide” | [KPIX's official About page](https://www.kpixstudio.com.my/home-2/), checked September 25, 2026 |
| Official website location table | 50 rows. Some rows specify two or more machines, with wording such as “2 unit,” “4 ( unit )” or “( 1 booth ) ( 2 booth )” | [KPIX's official locations page](https://www.kpixstudio.com.my/home-3/), checked September 25, 2026 |
| Studio section of the official locations page | Four locations: IOI City Mall, KTCC Mall, Wangsa Walk Mall and Paradigm Mall | Same as above |
| This site's database | 48 venues, 63 machines, across 13 jurisdictions (states and federal territories); 39 venues active and nine awaiting confirmation | [photobooth.joelin.cc's KPIX brand page](https://photobooth.joelin.cc/brand/kpix/), recorded figures checked September 28, 2026; not an official nationwide total |

The four figures do not line up, mainly because their units differ. Each row on the official website represents a placement location, and a single mall often has two or three rows. This site counts venues: one mall is one venue, with its machines then listed individually. The official claim of at least 60 machines has neither a verification date nor an accompanying list, so this article cannot reconcile it.

The official location table itself has gone a long time without an update. The website's page data shows that the locations page was last modified on February 19, 2025. Three Wayback Machine captures—from September 2025, February 2026 and May 2026—contain the same 50 rows, row for row, as on the day this article checked it. Over the same period, the official Instagram account mentioned several locations absent from the table, discussed at the end of this section. The website table's 50 rows therefore undercount KPIX's actual locations.

### By state and federal territory: Kuala Lumpur has the most venues, Johor the most machines, with locations in both East Malaysian states

| State / federal territory | KPIX venues listed by this site | Machines | Venues awaiting confirmation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur | 11 | 11 | 1 |
| Johor | 9 | 13 | 2 |
| Penang | 4 | 6 | 2 |
| Selangor | 4 | 4 | 0 |
| Pahang | 3 | 7 | 1 |
| Sarawak | 3 | 5 | 1 |
| Kedah | 3 | 4 | 0 |
| Negeri Sembilan | 3 | 3 | 0 |
| Terengganu | 2 | 3 | 1 |
| Putrajaya | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| Sabah | 2 | 2 | 1 |
| Melaka | 1 | 2 | 0 |
| Perak | 1 | 1 | 0 |

These are photobooth.joelin.cc's recorded figures, checked September 28, 2026, rather than an official nationwide total.

KPIX operates beyond Kuala Lumpur, although Kuala Lumpur has the most venues. By venue count, Kuala Lumpur ranks first with 11, five of which are GSC cinemas added on September 25, 2026. By machine count, Johor's 13 exceed Kuala Lumpur's 11; Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru alone has four. Locations extend from Kedah and Penang in northern Malaysia, through Pahang and Terengganu on the east coast, to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia. Among the other 28 brands in this site's Malaysian database, even the most widely distributed reaches only five jurisdictions, and most operate solely in the Klang Valley or a single city. Spanning 13 jurisdictions (states and federal territories), KPIX is the only brand with locations across the country.

### Why nine venues are marked “awaiting confirmation”

“Awaiting confirmation” does not mean that a machine is no longer there. It means this site could obtain only one type of evidence, or found two conflicting official sources. The nine venues fall into three groups:

- Five have conflicting official sources: Fahrenheit 88, Gurney Paragon, Gurney Plaza, KTCC Mall and VivaCity Megamall. KPIX's website says there are machines there, but none appears in the complete tenant directories published by those malls. This site checked the entries individually; VivaCity's directory, for example, has 267 entries. Both sides are official sources, so this site does not choose between them and marks the venues as awaiting confirmation.
- Three rely solely on KPIX as a source. For IOI Mall Kulai and Genting's SkyAvenue, the official website gives only the city and a neighboring shop. This site identified the malls by working backward from those landmarks, but found no KPIX entry in either the mall directory or Google Business Profiles. For Centre Point Sabah, the website says “Central Point,” while the mall's website returns a 403 response, preventing access to its directory.
- One has a joint post but no mall directory entry: Lot 2.48 at Batu Pahat Mall in Johor. A joint post by KPIX's official Instagram account and the mall's official Instagram account specifies the location, but the floor directory on the mall's website does not list that unit, and no Google Business Profile entry was found. It was therefore marked as awaiting confirmation when added on September 25, 2026.

There are also examples of mall directories corroborating KPIX's presence. Sunway Kluang Mall's official directory lists “KPIX SELFIE STUDIO 1-72-73” ([Sunway Kluang Mall directory](https://www.sunwaykluangmall.com/directory/kpix-selfie-studio)), and The Spring in Kuching lists “KPIX Selfie Studio KF6 First Floor” on its official shop page ([The Spring directory](https://www.thespring.com.my/shops/kpix)). Both were checked on September 25, 2026. Imago, supported by the tenant list in the mall's app, and Mayang Mall, supported by the mall's official website directory, were added that same day and fall into this category too. Individual machines in corridors generally do not appear in mall directories, which usually list units with shop numbers. Absence from a directory therefore cannot be treated as evidence that a machine does not exist.

### Locations mentioned by the official Instagram account but missing from the website table

Several locations absent from the official website's location table appeared in official Instagram posts from July and August 2026. This site verified and added them individually on September 25, 2026:

| Location | Original wording on official Instagram | Post | This site's assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Imago Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah | KPIX Selfie Studio, Imago Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu | [August 2026 post](https://www.instagram.com/p/DcLEq9NTcxY/) | Active: KPIX appears in the tenant list in the mall's app |
| Mayang Mall, Terengganu | KPIX Selfie Studio, Mayang Mall | [August 2026 post](https://www.instagram.com/p/Dbka0bgzfhT/) | Active: listed in the mall's official website directory |
| Batu Pahat Mall, Johor | Level 2, Batu Pahat Mall … Lot 2.48 | [July 2026 post](https://www.instagram.com/p/DbU2NP8ToOm/) | Awaiting confirmation: Lot 2.48 is absent from the mall's official website directory |
| Eight GSC cinemas | See Section 4 | [July 2026 post](https://www.instagram.com/p/DbSk_M2k7YH/) and [August 2026 post](https://www.instagram.com/p/DciQJDAE6cg/) | Active: joint posts by KPIX's and GSC's official accounts are treated as corroboration from the cinema operator |

Checked September 25, 2026.

With these additions, this site's recorded count increased from 38 venues and 52 machines on September 22, 2026, to 48 venues and 63 machines. This site can list only locations supported by public evidence, so this is still not a nationwide total.

## 3. Two products: machines in corridors and small studios inside malls

The official locations page divides its entries into two sections. The four at the top are labeled “KPIX Studio Locations,” while the dozens of rows below are labeled “Photobooth Locations.” The Instagram bio likewise names only the malls housing those four studios: IOI City Mall, Wangsa Walk, Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru and KTCC Mall in Terengganu.

- Studios occupy small mall units with shop numbers. The IOI City Mall entry in this site's database is at L3-230, which is also the company's registered address.
- Photo booths are individual machines placed in public areas. Each row in the official location table describes a floor and nearby landmark, such as “level 5 infront GSC cinema,” “level 3 infront Mr.DIY” or “Beside TGV Cinema.” These landmarks are often cinemas, home improvement and hardware chains, or supermarkets—places with steady foot traffic inside malls.

No standardized price list has been published. Only two dated price clues were found:

| Date | Price clue | Source |
|---|---|---|
| August 2023 | Paradigm Mall, Johor Bahru: RM15 for two physical photos | Third party: [Lemon8 user post](https://www.lemon8-app.com/amuhlie/7271306608112779777?region=sg) |
| August 2026 | Mayang Mall, Terengganu: the official post opens with “RM20 boleh buat apa?” (Malay for “What can you do with RM20?”) | [Official Instagram post](https://www.instagram.com/p/Dbka0bgzfhT/) |

One is a user post and the other an official post, and they concern different locations. They indicate a price range of RM15 to RM20, but cannot be interpreted as a price increase over three years.

Two rows in the official location table also include “( Disney )”: “( Disney ) 2 unit booth” at Kuantan City Mall and “( Disney ) 4 ( unit )” at East Coast Mall, both in Kuantan. The table contains only the word Disney, with no explanation of whether it refers to licensed frames, themed machines or a one-off event. No explanation from KPIX or Disney was found, so this article makes no inference.

## 4. The GSC cinema partnership: Keepsake by GSC × KPIX

GSC, or Golden Screen Cinemas, is a Malaysian cinema chain. Keepsake is its movie merchandise brand, with physical stores at locations including Aurum Theatre at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur ([Keepsake page on GSC's official website](https://www.gsc.com.my/shop/keepsake/keepsake-store-aurum-theatre-the-exchange-trx/)).

KPIX's official Instagram account and @keepsakebygsc have published several joint posts—the earliest found for this article dates to December 2025—promoting exclusive “KPIX x Keepsake by GSC” frames and cinema photo booths:

![Screenshot of a joint Instagram post by KPIX and Keepsake by GSC. The account line at the top reads “kpix.studio and keepsakebygsc.” The image shows the Keepsake by GSC logo, the text “Enjoy a treat from us while creating memories with KPIX.” and an RM5 discount.](https://image.joelin.cc/cdn-cgi/imagedelivery/0xu8EsaSar9n3zUKY5d7xw/joelin/2026-09/kpix-ig-gsc-keepsake-voucher/hero) Image: a cinema discount promotion jointly posted by KPIX and Keepsake by GSC. The screenshot includes only the upper half, excluding the sample portraits below. Source: Instagram @kpix.studio, original post, captured September 25, 2026.

This post was published in June 2026 and was pinned at the time of research. People watching a movie at designated GSC cinemas can collect an RM5 discount voucher from cinema staff for use at a “KPIX x GSC Photobooth.” The locations listed across several posts indicate two types of machine:

| Machine type | Cinemas listed on official Instagram |
|---|---|
| High Angle (overhead photography) | Aurum Theatre at The Exchange TRX, GSC LaLaport BBCC, GSC Mid Valley Megamall, GSC EkoCheras Mall |
| Standard Room (conventional photography room) | GSC 1 Utama, GSC Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru, GSC Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru, GSC KL East Mall |

Sources: official Instagram posts dated [July 27, 2026](https://www.instagram.com/p/DbSk_M2k7YH/) and [August 27, 2026](https://www.instagram.com/p/DciQJDAE6cg/). The two lists differ slightly; this table combines them. Checked September 25, 2026.

Two points matter when reading this table. None of these eight cinemas appears in KPIX's official website location table. This site added them to its database on September 25, 2026, marking them active on the basis of joint posts by KPIX's and GSC's official accounts, treated as corroboration from the cinema operator. Each location was recorded as having one machine. The possibility that the cinema machine at Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru duplicates an existing KPIX machine elsewhere in the mall cannot be ruled out; they are recorded separately. Neither party has disclosed the partnership's details, including who supplies the machines, who collects payment or how revenue is shared. A search for “photobooth” on GSC's official website found no relevant content. The available material is currently limited to social posts on KPIX's side, so the article can establish only that the two parties jointly posted promotions.

The official copy describes all the exclusive frames released during the partnership as “inspired”: “dramatic anime energy” frames in December 2025, “WEB-SLINGING MEMORIES” superhero frames in July 2026, and four-color “magical house-inspired” frames in August. The copy contains no titles of specific works or licensing statements. This article does not judge whether these qualify as licensed collaborations.

All entries were checked on September 25, 2026.

There are two gaps in this timeline. The location and opening date of the first outlet could not be established. The earliest Malaysian record found is an August 2023 user post about Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru. It establishes only that operations were already underway at that time, not that this was the first machine. No records of funding, a stock-market listing or an acquisition were found either.

Another visible pattern is that the Malaysian company came first, in 2022, followed by the Singapore and Australian companies in 2023. The official website domain came last, in 2024. The company's expansion preceded its public-facing communications, and the website and location table have consistently lagged behind the actual number of locations. That remains the case at the time of this research.

## 6. Comparing KPIX with Hong Kong's SNAPIO

KPIX and [Hong Kong's SNAPIO](/p/9584) use the same business model: placing machines along public circulation routes in malls without renting an entire shop. Their scale and distribution differ:

| Item | KPIX (Malaysia) | SNAPIO (Hong Kong) |
|---|---|---|
| Operating company | KPIX Venture Sdn Bhd, incorporated August 2022 | 香港相機有限公司, registered June 2020 |
| This site's recorded count | 48 venues, 63 machines | 38 venues, 46 placement points |
| Distribution | 13 jurisdictions (states and federal territories), from Johor Bahru to Kuching | Concentrated in Hong Kong's top-tier malls |
| Format | Mainly individual machines, plus four studios | Mainly individual machines |
| Overseas presence | Companies with the same name in Singapore and Australia; an account with the same name in Indonesia | Placement points in Taiwan |
| External partnerships | Exclusive frames with GSC cinemas' Keepsake brand | Frames featuring brands such as 維他奶, Toy Story and CHIIKAWA |

KPIX figures are from photobooth.joelin.cc, checked September 28, 2026. SNAPIO figures are from [p/9584](/p/9584).

The two brands have relatively similar venue counts in the database—48 for KPIX and 38 for SNAPIO—but those numbers mean different things. Hong Kong is geographically small and its malls are concentrated; SNAPIO's 38 venues amount to coverage of most of its top-tier malls. Malaysia has a large land area and dispersed cities. KPIX uses a comparable number of locations to cover 13 jurisdictions (states and federal territories), with between one and 11 venues in each jurisdiction. The rent calculations explaining why opening shops does not work in Hong Kong are covered in [Why Hong Kong's self-portrait booths are concentrated in malls](/p/9604). This article has not researched Malaysian mall rents and does not apply the Hong Kong conclusion to Malaysia.

### Does KPIX qualify as the market leader?

By the number of venues listed on this site, KPIX ranks first in Malaysia: 48 of the 82 venues have its machines, while the second-largest brand has only seven. This claim has three limitations:

- This site's Malaysian research relies mainly on mall directories and brands' official location tables. It includes fewer independent street-level shops, so a mall-based brand such as KPIX is inherently easier to count.
- Nine KPIX venues, accounting for 14 machines, await confirmation. Counting only active venues, KPIX has 39 and the second-largest brand has six.
- A single venue often contains several brands. Pavilion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, for example, has four. “KPIX is present at 48 venues” does not mean “KPIX captures all the business at 48 venues.” If each brand at each venue is counted separately, KPIX accounts for 48 of 117 brand–venue entries, or approximately 41%.

The more precise statement is therefore that, among the Malaysian photo booth locations this site has been able to document, KPIX has the widest distribution and the most locations. No public figures establish whether it ranks first by revenue.

## FAQ

### Which country is KPIX from?

Its operating company, KPIX Venture Sdn Bhd, was incorporated in Malaysia in August 2022 and is registered in Putrajaya. The website uses the slogan “Korea's No. 1 Photo-Booth Experience in Malaysia,” but this article found no licensing or ownership relationship with any Korean company. Singapore has a company with the same name, KPIX Venture Pte Ltd, while Australia has KPIX Australia Pty Ltd.

### How many outlets does KPIX have in Malaysia?

KPIX has not published a formal nationwide outlet count. Its website claims four studios and at least 60 machines, while its location table has 50 rows. photobooth.joelin.cc lists 48 venues and 63 machines, checked September 28, 2026, including several locations mentioned on official Instagram but absent from the website table. This site includes only locations supported by public evidence. Its figure is not an official nationwide total.

### How much does a KPIX photo session cost?

The official website does not publish a standardized price list. An August 2026 official Instagram post about Mayang Mall in Terengganu mentions RM20. An August 2023 user post says that RM15 bought two photos at Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru. The locations and dates differ; check the price at the machine.

### What is KPIX's relationship with GSC cinemas?

KPIX's official Instagram account and Keepsake by GSC, GSC's merchandise brand, have repeatedly published joint posts promoting “KPIX x Keepsake by GSC” cinema photo booths and exclusive frames. The posts list eight cinemas, including TRX Aurum Theatre, LaLaport BBCC and Mid Valley Megamall. Neither party has disclosed the partnership terms.

### Who founded KPIX?

This article could not establish that. KPIX's official website contains no personal names. Directors and shareholders of the Malaysian company require a paid SSM report, and no KPIX founder interview was found in major Malaysian media.
