# Freeze Film Korean-Style Photo Studios: NT$100 for Three Years, but Its Official Eight-Store List Is Outdated | Taiwan’s Korean-Style Photo Booth Industry Survey

The Chinese original was first published on August 21, 2026, and last updated on September 30, 2026. The investigation and figures below preserve that source snapshot.

## Summary

This article investigates Freeze Film, a Taiwanese Korean-style photo booth brand also officially called 凍結時刻 (Frozen Moments). Its trademark, 'FREEZE FILM 韓文 及圖' (FREEZE FILM, Korean Text and Device), has registration number 02353284. The application was filed on March 11, 2023; registration was published on January 16, 2024; and exclusive rights run through January 15, 2034. The trademark owner is an individual, Chen Jianming (陳建銘), whose nationality is the Republic of China. The designated classes cover cameras and photographic processing machines in Class 9, digital photo printing and image processing in Class 40, and entertainment services and photography in Class 41. No trademark was found for the Chinese name 凍結時刻. The brand’s official page lists eight locations: Taichung Yizhong and Fengjia, Chiayi Wenhua, Yunlin Huwei, Tainan Guohua, and Kaohsiung Wufu, Jiangong, and Ruifeng. That list is outdated. Address-by-address checks in August 2026 found that another amusement attraction operator had taken over the first floor of the former Fengjia address at No. 193, Wenhua Road; the Wufu concession’s page had disappeared from Talee Department Store’s website; and no listing could be found for Jiangong. Five locations could be confirmed as operating: Taichung Yizhong, Tainan Guohua, Chiayi Wenhua, Kaohsiung Ruifeng, and Yunlin Huwei. Together they had approximately 19,000 Google reviews. The Taichung Yizhong flagship alone had a 5.0 rating and 12,339 reviews. Pricing remained a flat NT$100 from 2023 through 2026, contrary to the general move toward NT$200 among other Taiwanese brands over the same period. A third-party franchise platform lists franchise fees starting at NT$400,000, with formats including carts, storefronts, and other options, and territories including Taiwan’s outlying islands. Headquarters has no standalone official website, publicly disclosed business identification number, or franchise hotline. Individual stores manage their own social accounts and contact channels, making this a franchise or licensing network rather than a company-operated chain.

## Key facts

- Freeze Film’s trademark registration number is 02353284. It was applied for on March 11, 2023, and registered on January 16, 2024. The owner is an individual, Chen Jianming (陳建銘), whose nationality is the Republic of China.
- The designated classes are Classes 9, 40, and 41. Class 41 covers entertainment services, provision of recreational facilities, and photography.
- No registered trademark or pending application for the Chinese brand name 凍結時刻 (Frozen Moments) was found in the trademark search system.
- Pricing remained a flat NT$100 from 2023 through 2026, without following other Taiwanese brands’ move toward NT$200 over the same period.
- The official page lists eight stores, but the list is outdated. Address-by-address checks in August 2026 confirmed five operating stores, with approximately 19,000 Google reviews in total.
- The Taichung Yizhong flagship had a 5.0 Google rating and 12,339 reviews, including 1,231 mentioning uniforms.
- A third-party franchise platform lists franchise fees starting at NT$400,000. Available formats include carts, and eligible territories include Taiwan’s outlying islands.
- Individual stores use different Instagram and Facebook accounts, email addresses, and LINE Official Accounts. Headquarters has no standalone official website or publicly disclosed business identification number.
- Another amusement attraction operator now occupies the first floor of the former Taichung Fengjia address at No. 193, Wenhua Road, Xitun District, Taichung. The Kaohsiung Wufu concession’s page has disappeared from Talee Department Store’s website.

Prices for Korean-style photo booths in Taiwan have been moving steadily upward. The earliest standalone street-side machines cost NT$100 per session. Once they moved into stores with grooming areas, props, and air conditioning, prices rose to NT$150–300. The next step was distinctive, themed individual stores. I wrote about this progression back in 2023.

Freeze Film is an exception to that progression. It has reached the themed-store stage, yet its price remains at the bottom rung: NT$100, unchanged for three years. It expanded to eight stores at that price.

But eight is the number on its official page, and that page is outdated. I checked every address. Another operator now uses the former Taichung Fengjia premises, and the page for the Kaohsiung Wufu department-store concession no longer exists. Five stores could actually be confirmed as still operating.

The text below states that prices never rose from 2023 through 2026, while the brand expanded to eight stores.](https://image.joelin.cc/cdn-cgi/imagedelivery/0xu8EsaSar9n3zUKY5d7xw/joelin/2026-08/freezefilm-price-flat-store-up/hero)

## Brand Overview

| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Brand name | Freeze Film Korean-Style Photo Studios |
| Alternative Chinese name used officially | 凍結時刻 (Frozen Moments). Its social page calls it “Freeze Film Frozen Moments Korean-Style Photo Experience”; the Chinese name has no trademark. |
| Brand origin | A Taiwanese brand, not a Korean brand expanding into Taiwan |
| Earliest verifiable presence | March 2023: a store was already present in the Yizhong shopping district, and the brand was publicly recruiting franchisees. |
| Trademark | Registration number 02353284; owned by an individual, Chen Jianming (陳建銘) |
| Corporate entity | Not disclosed; no business identification number or person in charge could be found in public information |
| Flagship store | Taichung Yizhong, No. 2-2, Yucai South Street, North District, Taichung |
| Store count | The official page lists eight, but that list is outdated. Address-by-address checks in August 2026 confirmed five operating stores. |
| Pricing | A flat NT$100 for any template |
| Signature services | Free loans of Korean-style uniforms and props, transparent photo strips, and overhead photo booth machines |
| Franchising | Yes; a third-party franchise platform lists fees starting at NT$400,000 |
| Customer service | A LINE Official Account is the sole entry point; no publicly listed telephone number |

The row that deserves the most attention is “Corporate entity: not disclosed.” This brand has no standalone official website, company registration information, or franchise hotline. The only ownership right I could establish was a single trademark; everything else lives on social platforms. The next section starts with that trademark.

## Who Is Behind This Brand? The Only Ownership Record I Could Find Was a Trademark

Freeze Film’s official page has no company name, business identification number, or standalone website—just a page collecting social links. Across the brand’s public information, the only identifiable ownership right is a single trademark.

| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Trademark name | “FREEZE FILM 韓文 及圖” (FREEZE FILM, Korean Text and Device) |
| Registration number | 02353284 |
| Application date | March 11, 2023 |
| Registration publication date | January 16, 2024 |
| Exclusive rights expire | January 15, 2034 |
| Trademark owner | Chen Jianming (陳建銘), an individual whose nationality is the Republic of China |
| Designated classes | Class 9: cameras and photographic processing machines; Class 40: digital photo printing and image processing; Class 41: entertainment services, provision of recreational facilities, and photography |

The important part of this table is the classes, not the name. Class 41 encompasses the services that photo booths actually sell, meaning this trademark can be used to prevent others from using it; it is not merely decorative. In the same search system, no cases were found for the four Chinese characters 凍結時刻. That is simply a marketing name, without trademark protection.

A common misconception is worth correcting here. The trademark contains Korean text, but those two characters mean “studio,” and a disclaimer of exclusive rights was required. This is a Taiwanese brand selling a Korean-style experience, not a Korean brand opening stores in Taiwan.

The sequence of events is also worth recording. When I wrote my article about photo booth franchises on March 5, 2023, Freeze Film was already publicly recruiting franchisees. Two days later, when I surveyed the Yizhong shopping district, its store was already on Yucai South Street. The trademark application was not filed until March 11. Open a store first, recruit franchisees first, then file the trademark: this is the reverse of some other Taiwanese operators, which secured their trademarks before opening physical locations under the new signs.

## Prices Stayed Unchanged for Three Years

I found the same NT$100 price at three different points in time, across three different types of sources.

| Period | Source | Price |
|---|---|---|
| March 2023 | My own industry survey | NT$100 per session |
| From 2023 through the time of this investigation | The brand’s official page | A flat NT$100 for any template |
| 2026 | Customer reviews of individual stores | NT$100; two prints for NT$100 |

Over the same period, most other Taiwanese brands moved toward NT$200. The sector as a whole had not remained unchanged; this particular brand simply did not follow.

Keeping prices flat is not unusual in itself. What is unusual is that Freeze Film kept adding services at the same time. It offers free loans of Korean-style uniforms, props, and hair accessories; curling irons and full-length mirrors on site; staff assistance; transparent photo strips; and machines that shoot from above. Its cost structure is moving upward while its selling price stays put.

## What Supports This Price?

The review topic tags make the answer clearest. The Taichung Yizhong flagship had accumulated more than 12,000 reviews, with 1,231 mentioning “uniforms.” This is not merely a selling point claimed in marketing copy. It is something customers repeatedly bring up themselves.

Free uniform loans turn “taking a photo” into “spending an afternoon having fun.” The amount spent per customer stays unchanged, but visits become longer, more photos are taken, and social sharing increases. Here, the low price is a way to set the entry threshold.

The review count is where that strategy pays off. Approximately 19,000 five-star reviews across eight stores later became the opening line of its franchise recruitment pitch.

## The Real Business Model Is Franchising, Not the Stores

A third-party franchise platform lists the following package:

| Item | Listed details |
|---|---|
| Franchise fee | Starting at NT$400,000 |
| Package contents | Advertising and marketing, operating equipment, and training included |
| Store formats | Carts, storefronts, and other options |
| Eligible territories | Northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan, plus outlying islands |
| Franchise hotline | Not disclosed; inquiries made online |

Two points in this table deserve attention. First, the same package card says both “franchise fee starting at NT$400,000” and “no franchise fee, no royalties.” Taken literally, these contradict each other. A reasonable interpretation is that the full amount is collected once, with no further fees afterward, but the platform page does not make that clear, and I will not fill in the gaps for it. Second, the “cart” option opens up an additional tier of prospective franchisees. Whether NT$400,000 is enough to open a store is debatable, but it is more than enough to set up a cart.

The brand makes three claims about itself: that it ranks first in Taiwan on multiple measures among Korean-style photo booth stores; that its Taichung flagship has more than 10,000 five-star Google reviews; and that it was the first Korean-style photo booth store covered by TVBS News. I verified the second claim: the Yizhong store did have a 5.0 rating and 12,339 reviews. I could not find the news report behind the third claim. The first claim has no verifiable definition.

## Industry Intelligence: Budgets Reported by the Market Itself

The franchise platform publishes recent inquiries, including locations, timing, and budget ranges. There were 20 entries on Freeze Film’s page, distributed as follows:

- The most common budget was NT$250,000–500,000, accounting for nine of the 20 inquiries.
- Seven inquiries in total fell between NT$500,000 and NT$1.5 million.
- One specified an overseas location, a budget of NT$1.5–2 million, and a timeframe of within one month.
- Inquiry locations included Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Nantou, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Miaoli, and Hualien.

The value of these data lies less in Freeze Film than in the sector as a whole. They are a rare set of figures reported by the demand side of the market: among people wanting to open photo booth stores, the median budget falls in the NT$250,000–500,000 range. Looking back at operators’ advertised prices—starting at NT$400,000 or NT$350,000—they sit right within that band. Those prices are set to match the band, rather than by instinct.

## Every Store Has Its Own Owner

This is not a company-operated chain. The evidence is clear when laid out together.

- Each store has its own Instagram and Facebook pages, with its location appended to the account name.
- The Fengjia store used its own mobile number and a Gmail address bearing the store name. Tainan Guohua has its own LINE Official Account, separate from headquarters’ account.
- In April 2026, the Yunlin Huwei owner posted a notice saying she was 36 weeks pregnant and preparing to give birth. Customized keychains would temporarily be unavailable on weekdays. The staff were university students, and their availability would be collected during graduation season to arrange shifts.
- Customized keychains are offered only at Huwei, not across the brand.

Headquarters, meanwhile, is extremely lean: no standalone official website, company name, publicly disclosed business identification number, or franchise hotline—just a link collection page and a LINE Official Account. The brand sells its name, machines, training, and a visual identity. Each store’s owner carries the day-to-day operating burden.

## Store List and Current Status

The official page lists eight stores. I checked each one in August 2026.

| Store | Address | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Taichung Yizhong flagship | No. 2-2, Yucai South Street, North District, Taichung | Operating; 5.0 rating / 12,339 reviews |
| Tainan Guohua | No. 6, Lane 217, Zhongzheng Road, West Central District, Tainan | Operating; 5.0 rating / 3,191 reviews |
| Chiayi Wenhua | No. 172, Lanjing Street, West District, Chiayi City | Operating; 5.0 rating / 2,547 reviews |
| Kaohsiung Ruifeng | No. 1027, Yucheng Road, Gushan District, Kaohsiung | Operating; 5.0 rating / 823 reviews |
| Yunlin Huwei | No. 196-3, Zhongzheng Road, Huwei Township, Yunlin County | Operating; 5.0 rating / 287 reviews |
| Taichung Fengjia | No. 193, Wenhua Road, Xitun District, Taichung | No longer at this location. Another amusement attraction operator now uses the first floor at this address. Its last social media update was in November 2025. |
| Kaohsiung Wufu | A concession in Talee Department Store | Very likely withdrawn. Its former concession page no longer exists on the department store’s website, and the brand could not be found around that address. |
| Kaohsiung Jiangong | Address not obtained | No listing could be found; status could not be confirmed. |

After rechecking each of the five operating stores on September 30, 2026, photobooth included them on its [Freeze Film brand page](https://photobooth.joelin.cc/brand/freeze-film/), where each store’s address and map can be found.

There is an additional, independent indication that the Yizhong flagship was operating: its Google Business Profile stated that the location’s information had been updated by telephone six weeks earlier. Customers and staff were also interacting in the reviews during the same period, including a staff response to a question about when the air conditioning was turned on. This is more reliable than looking only at the rating and total review count, because both are cumulative and do not disappear when a store closes.

The last three stores need to be discussed separately. Fengjia is definitely no longer there, because another operator’s sign now hangs on the first floor at that address. This is evidence of replacement, not simply an unsuccessful search.

![Screenshot of the Google Maps address page for No. 193, Wenhua Road, Xitun District, Taichung, captured on August 21, 2026. The upper portion shows an old photo retained for this address, depicting the Freeze Film Fengjia storefront: an off-white facade, a row of Korean-style uniforms for loan hanging behind the glass doors, a white sign stand outside bearing Freeze Film and the Korean text 프리즈사진관, and a blackboard sign displaying 100. The lower portion shows the same page’s section for businesses and places at this location. It currently lists another operator, 無量右霸主的家, with a 4.0 rating and eight reviews, categorized as a theme park amusement attraction and located on the first floor.](https://image.joelin.cc/cdn-cgi/imagedelivery/0xu8EsaSar9n3zUKY5d7xw/joelin/2026-08/freezefilm-fengjia-address-now/hero)

Screenshot source: the Google Maps address page for “407臺中市西屯區西平里文華路193號” (No. 193, Wenhua Road, Xiping Village, Xitun District, Taichung 407), captured on August 21, 2026. The storefront image shown within the page was an existing Google Maps photo of the location, originally taken by a third-party contributor. The storefront photo in the upper portion is a remnant of old information retained on the address page; the lower portion shows the address’s current tenant. The transition is visible on a single page. Wufu’s concession page has disappeared from the department store’s website, and searches around that address also returned no trace of the brand. It very likely withdrew, but I have no withdrawal announcement to cite. For Jiangong, I could not even obtain an address, so I can only describe its status as unconfirmed. Failure to find a store does not mean it has closed; removing photo booth machines or closing these stores often leaves little public trace. Chiayi’s opening date, however, could be established: mid-June 2023. Customers posted about it on social media within three days of opening, and the store described itself as Chiayi’s first Korean-style uniform photo booth store.

## An Outdated Official List Is a Signal in Its Own Right

A brand still recruiting franchisees has three stores on its official page that are either no longer there or cannot be found. That is no small matter. This is what the page looked like:

![Screenshot of Freeze Film’s official social link page, captured on August 21, 2026. At the top are the brand logo, the wording “Freeze Film Frozen Moments Korean-Style Photo Experience” and “Self Photo Studio,” and three statements: instant-photo machine rentals are also available; Taiwan’s first provider of free Korean-style uniform loans; and a flat NT$100 for any template. A paragraph below says, “We already have eight physical stores in Taiwan, and our flagship has received more than 10,000 positive reviews on Google Maps.” It then lists eight locations: Taichung Yizhong and Fengjia, Chiayi Wenhua, Yunlin Huwei, Tainan Guohua, and Kaohsiung Wufu, Jiangong, and Ruifeng.](https://image.joelin.cc/cdn-cgi/imagedelivery/0xu8EsaSar9n3zUKY5d7xw/joelin/2026-08/freezefilm-portaly-8stores/hero)

Screenshot source: Freeze Film’s official Portaly page, portaly.cc/freezefilm, captured on August 21, 2026.

Franchising sells an idea of “how large this brand is today.” The store list is one of the first things prospective franchisees will examine, and this one overcounts by three stores. In other words, someone viewing that page would perceive the brand as 60% larger than its actual footprint.

I do not know whether this is deliberate or simply poor maintenance. Both are possible, and an outsider cannot tell. Either way, the conclusion for someone considering a contract is the same: check every store yourself, rather than copying the list supplied by the brand. The method is simple. Paste each address into a map and see whose sign is currently displayed there.

Incidentally, that is why this article’s store table gives “address plus status” rather than city names alone. A list of city names cannot be verified; a list of addresses can.

## I Could Not Find Registrations for This Brand, but That Is Not an Industry-Wide Rule

I matched the store addresses against the Ministry of Finance’s nationwide business tax registration dataset. None of the five addresses had a corresponding photo booth registration. The tax registration at the Yucai South Street address belonged to a food-service business; the first floor at the Yucheng Road address was registered to a stationery wholesaler; and the other three addresses had no registrations at all. I then used the industry codes for photo processing and other photography to scan all records in the administrative districts containing those five addresses. Again, nothing matched.

I originally intended to turn this into a general rule: that most Taiwanese photo booth stores do not need separate tax registrations, making registration records unsuitable for reconstructing their expansion histories. That statement was wrong, and I overturned it myself on August 21, 2026, the day the Chinese original was published.

Another brand in the same sector disproved it. Using the same address-by-address matching method, I found matches for four of its five locations, and discovered four separately registered entities operating under one sign. The difference was not the database but the search method: match records individually by address, rather than matching the Chinese brand name on the sign against the name field, because storefront names and registered business names often use entirely different words. You also need to recognize the industry code for photo processing.

The correct statement must therefore be limited to this brand: I could not find registrations for these five Freeze Film addresses. Perhaps the stores are small, perhaps they operate under another name, or perhaps I have not yet found the right search key. A failed search is a failed search; I cannot supply a structural explanation on its behalf.

I could have left this section out. I kept it because an investigator overturning a conclusion reached just an hour earlier is exactly what this series should show. “I could not find it” and “it does not exist” are two different things. “I could not find registrations for this brand” and “registrations cannot be found for this industry” are another two different things.

## For Prospective Entrants: Three Lessons from This Brand

1. Low pricing is a choice of business strategy. Taking the NT$100 route means accepting that the revenue focus shifts from the price charged at each store to the number of stores and franchise fees, while differentiation must come from the experience rather than the price.
2. Review counts are an asset that can be used to recruit franchisees. To a reader, more than 10,000 five-star reviews mean “this place is popular.” To a prospective franchisee, they mean “this brand has demonstrated customer traffic.” The same data serve both audiences.
3. The franchise fee is only the entry price. Starting at NT$400,000 buys the name, machines, and training. What really determines profitability is whether there are continuing charges afterward—for consumables, systems, machine maintenance, or photo-frame licenses. None of these layers are visible in the public information, and they must be clarified before signing.
4. Verify the brand’s store list yourself. Of the eight stores on this brand’s official page, three were no longer there or could not be found. Paste the addresses into a map and check whose signs are currently displayed; the whole check takes ten minutes.

## Official Social Channels and Store Accounts

The brand has no standalone official website. All official information is concentrated on a single social link page, while individual stores run their own accounts. The following official channels could be confirmed as still online in August 2026.

- Kaohsiung Ruifeng: Instagram `freezefilm_khrf`

The fact that stores hold their own accounts also supports the earlier assessment. A company-operated chain would not have each store set up its own Instagram, Facebook page, and LINE Official Account, because that would disperse control over brand communications. This arrangement is more typical of a franchise or licensing network: headquarters manages the brand and machines, while stores manage their own customers.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Freeze Film a Korean brand?

No. Its trademark owner’s nationality is the Republic of China. Although the trademark includes Korean text, those two characters mean 'studio,' and the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office required a disclaimer of exclusive rights to them. It is a Taiwanese brand selling a Korean-style photo booth experience.

### How much does a Freeze Film session cost?

A flat NT$100, regardless of the template. This price did not change from 2023 through 2026, and the official page agrees with information at individual stores.

### How many Freeze Film stores are there?

The official page lists eight, but that list is outdated. Address-by-address checks in August 2026 confirmed five operating stores: Taichung Yizhong, Tainan Guohua, Chiayi Wenhua, Kaohsiung Ruifeng, and Yunlin Huwei. Another operator now uses the former Fengjia address; the Wufu concession’s page has disappeared from the department store’s website; and no listing could be found for Jiangong.

### How much is the Freeze Film franchise fee?

A third-party franchise platform lists a package starting at NT$400,000, including advertising and marketing, operating equipment, and training. Available formats include carts, storefronts, and other options. This is a platform listing, not an official brand page; actual terms must be confirmed with the brand.

### Why can Freeze Film keep its prices unchanged?

Public information suggests that it differentiates itself through free Korean-style uniform and prop loans rather than its session price. More than 1,200 of the Yizhong flagship’s over 10,000 reviews mention uniforms, indicating that this feature does attract customers. Low prices combined with a high volume of reviews, followed by using those reviews to recruit franchisees, offer another path to monetization.
