# ibon Postcard Sizes: Called 4 × 6, with Actual Paper Measuring 10 × 14.8 cm

ibon and 7-Eleven call the postcard service “4 × 6,” but [ibon's official specifications](https://print.ibon.com.tw/spec) list the actual stock as 10 × 14.8 cm. Converting 4 × 6 inches gives approximately 10.2 × 15.2 cm instead. Similar names do not establish that the paper, dimensions or photo-booth format are identical.

This page focuses on convenience-store printing specifications and operation. Two related questions have separate guides:

- For general postcard dimensions, mailing eligibility and A6 versus 4 × 6, see [common postcard sizes (Chinese original)](/p/6196).
- For 4 × 6 photo prints, pixel requirements and cropping phone pictures, see the [complete 4 × 6 photo guide](/en/p/9035).

The following table is a mathematical inch-to-centimeter conversion, not a list of ibon paper products. The 2 × 6 row does not establish that ibon offers that stock. Use the actual service's paper dimensions and preview when preparing artwork:

| Inches | Width in cm | Height in cm |
|---|---|---|
| 2 × 6 | 5.1 | 15.2 |
| 4 × 6 | 10.2 | 15.2 |

The table shows inch conversions. For ibon printing, design for the official 10 × 14.8 cm stock and the machine's printable area. The original article describes the 4 × 6 format as the predominant postcard format in Taiwan; this is not a worldwide postcard standard.

Keywords: ibon postcard printing, ibon 4 × 6 postcards, ibon postcard dimensions, 7-Eleven postcard dimensions, convenience-store postcards, FamilyMart postcard printing, Hi-Life postcards.

People also use this table when looking up ID photos. The Taiwan 2-inch ID-photo size discussed here is 3.5 × 4.5 cm, different from 4 × 6. Joe covers [graduation-gown ID-photo rules and dimensions](/en/p/9365) separately. For an in-person option in Taipei, see [self-service ID photos in Ximending (Chinese)](https://plab.one/p/1004/).

## Printing postcards at a convenience store: process and cost

Once the format is clear, two practical questions remain: how to get the file into the machine, and how much it costs.

### Three ways to send an image to ibon

- OPEN POINT app: select “Mobile Printing” (行動列印), then “Image Printing” (圖片列印), upload from your phone album and obtain a collection code.
- ibon cloud-printing website: upload the image from a computer and obtain a collection code.
- Email: attach the photograph and send it to ibon@ibon.com.tw.

All three involve uploading first and then entering the collection code in-store. You do not need a USB drive for these methods.

### Steps at the machine

1. On the ibon home screen, choose “Print/Scan” (列印／掃描).
2. Choose “Print Images/Documents” (列印圖片／文件).
3. Choose “Cloud Printing” (雲端列印), then “ibon Document Download” (ibon 文件下載).
4. Enter the collection code.
5. Check the file preview and choose print settings.
6. Review the print preview and order details, then print.

### Cost and limits

| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| 4 × 6 image print | NT$6 per sheet |
| Supported formats | JPG, BMP, GIF |
| Not supported | Compressed archives and encrypted files |
| Per-operation limit | At most 10 copies |
| Recommended image quality | At least 1028 × 960 px |

These prices and format limits follow the ibon announcements checked on September 10, 2026, for the Chinese original. Sources: [ibon 4 × 6 postcard printing steps](https://www.ibon.com.tw/steps/1050331_01.html) and the [ibon cloud-printing site](https://print.ibon.com.tw/).

The 10-copy limit and recommended resolution are common stumbling blocks. A whole photocard set may need several print operations. Original phone photos usually exceed the recommended pixel count; images saved from social platforms are more likely to fall short because compression can make them blurry in print.

### White borders are normal

ibon's special 4 × 6 stock is thick card rather than glossy photographic paper. The office printer has unprintable areas around all four edges, so white borders remain. For an edge-to-edge photographic finish, change the machine rather than a setting. See [what ibon photo printing actually uses](/en/p/4672) and [why borderless ibon postcards are not possible](/en/p/4235).

## Can FamilyMart and Hi-Life print postcards? Comparing three chains

Yes. The Taiwan services at 7-Eleven, FamilyMart and Hi-Life all offer cloud printing on 4 × 6 media. Prices, paper stock and the machine you use differ.

| Chain | System | 4 × 6 postcard/photo stock | 4 × 6 sticker | File transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7-Eleven | ibon cloud printing | NT$6 per sheet | NT$20 per sheet | OPEN POINT app, LINE, ibon website, email, USB drive |
| FamilyMart | FamiPort cloud printing | NT$9 per sheet, 4 × 6 photo paper | NT$15 per sheet | FamiPort website or app upload, then a QR code |
| Hi-Life | Hi-Life cloud printing, “Special Paper Printing” | Price not published on the website; 4 × 6 matte photo stock | Price not published on the website; 4 × 6 glossy sticker | Hi-Life website upload, then a 6-digit code |

Among the published postcard prices in this comparison, 7-Eleven's NT$6 is lower. For 4 × 6 stickers, FamilyMart's NT$15 is lower than 7-Eleven's NT$20. Hi-Life lists the available media without a public price; use the amount on the store's payment slip. These are Taiwan prices checked for the original article on October 19, 2026. ### Printing a postcard at FamilyMart

FamilyMart's official instructions have five steps: upload the file, select output specifications, save the QR code, choose cloud printing on FamiPort, and scan the QR code to print. Uploaded files are retained for 5 days; the same print code can be used during those 5 days. The listed paper categories are ordinary A4/A3, 4 × 6 photo paper and stickers, and 160-pound A4 thick paper.

### Printing a postcard at Hi-Life

Choose “Special Paper Printing,” not ordinary document printing. The official instructions are:

1. Upload to the special-paper page on Hi-Life's cloud-printing site. The limit is 2 files per upload, 10 MB combined; PDF, PNG, JPG, TIFF and HEIC are accepted.
2. Obtain the 6-digit print code.
3. At the store's Life-ET terminal, choose “Print Application” (列印申辦), then “Special Paper” (特殊紙材).
4. Enter the code and print the small payment slip.
5. Pay at the counter, then collect the result from the office printer.

Not every Hi-Life branch supports special paper. Before traveling, check the official [list/instructions for supported branches (Chinese)](https://instructions.creatify.tw/article/特殊紙材可以在哪些門市列印).

### ibon officially labels its 4 × 6 paper as 10 × 14.8 cm

ibon's price list labels the paper 10 × 14.8 cm, a few millimeters different from the rounded 10.2 × 15.2 cm conversion of 4 × 6 inches. Keep important text and artwork away from the edges. Those millimeters, combined with the white border, make edge content particularly vulnerable.

ibon and Hi-Life cloud prints come from in-store office printers; FamilyMart's official page does not specify the machine type. If you want photographic texture and photos for long-term keeping, the original article suggests the separate 立可得 photo-printing machines in FamilyMart and Hi-Life stores. See [Taiwan photo-printing channels and prices](/en/p/9786) for the distinctions.
